DATARTIM 08-05-2008, 10:18 AM Well you can start in many ways, a reseller account, vps or dedicated server. Since your asking the question, I'd say start with a reseller account and set aside 6 months costs. There is a lot more to it, but I'm not going to write your business plan for you. You will need a billing/support system, a website, a way of accepting payment, ideally a USP and much more. Don't jump in thinking it will be quick and easy cash, it is not and you need to be prepared to put a lot of time and effort in and have the financial backing to do it. David 08-05-2008, 10:25 AM I've got $14 and some belly button lint and some baseball cards. Wanna trade? Shurundas 08-05-2008, 10:32 AM Sorry for my english language. But I'm not a child and I'm realy interested in hosting buisnes. Shurundas 08-05-2008, 10:33 AM thans Tim for some information. Also I will try to search more in internet about hosting buisnes. supportfacility 08-05-2008, 10:51 AM Start with a reseller account, once you have a good client base then you can go for a dedicated server. Shurundas 08-05-2008, 11:03 AM tell me. Should i buy the server from some one else or should i make it by my self? FS - Mike 08-05-2008, 11:29 AM If you want to Co-locate, either is fine. It is probably easier for you to buy a pre-made server from someone like Dell. However, until you have a good customer base, it's best to go with a VPS or Dedicated server before co-locating. DATARTIM 08-05-2008, 11:31 AM If you choose to go straight to a dedicated server then you need to make sure you can manage it and do the administration. Otherwise start with a reseller account it is the best way to start with relatively low expenditure. Shurundas 08-05-2008, 11:38 AM So I will buy a server. I think it will be cheaper for the begining. whanks, for help. john99041 08-05-2008, 11:43 AM If you choose to go straight to a dedicated server then you need to make sure you can manage it and do the administration. Otherwise start with a reseller account it is the best way to start with relatively low expenditure. I agree, Either a Reseller Account, or A VPS would be the best place to start, then move to a dedicated server when you need to. You stand more of a change of making it if you dont have to payout $$$'s amonth when you only have $'s coming in to start with. Just remember, the most important thing about hosting is not how big you are, but how you look after your clients, how quick your support is (as well as knowing their stuff :)) and how reliable you are. Good luck :) Shurundas 08-05-2008, 11:48 AM thanks for all of you.. FINDHOSTcom 08-05-2008, 01:07 PM What did you decide to do? A dedi? VPS? Shurundas 08-05-2008, 01:15 PM I think dedi. Bikespot 08-05-2008, 03:12 PM If you have a budget i would go with reseller. There are lots of hosts that are selling reseller account. Then you wont have to worry about much , just getting clients. If you get dedicated it may take awhile before you have enough clients to pay the bill. Don't buy something that you dont need. fox80129 08-05-2008, 03:58 PM As Tim outlined in this thread, starting a new (succesfully) hosting business is not an easy thing to do, and is not a quick cash business as well. To start a small hosting company you'll need to be ready to invest some thousand dollars and you need a good understanding about the hosting field. TomHosting 08-05-2008, 07:47 PM technicality is easier compared to netting customers. with reseller account, you can instantly become a hosting provider. |
