OK, I think this may just be me being really daft but I've just got a RaQ 4i - set up a number of virtual sites under one IP address. THen I tried to log into any of them - or the site administrator. None will let me log in. Its not a user issue - it seems to be a server issue - on my ftp client (cuteFTP) it gets to waiting for welcome message then times out.

This may just be a simple error - but can anybody help me?

Thanks in advance.

What's the timeout period set to in your CuteFTP client? Your RaQ may be attempting to do a reverse lookup on your IP, and your client is giving up before the RaQ's reverse lookup times out itself.

I don't think that should be a problem - the time out seems long enough for every other FTP site I'm using. Would the RaQ do a reverse lookup even without bind running? Or could this be the problem that it isn't running? I have installed all the update pkgs it just seems to halt while waiting for the welcome message.

Thanks

If you are admin for 32 sites, you will have FTP problems.

Change some of your sites to a different siteadmin.

its not a user authentication problem - it won't get that far. For some reasonn it won't let me in with any username for any site. WS_FTP pro stop after waiting for server response. For some reason it would appear the server is not responding to FTP requests. FTP is definitely runing in the control panel but would appear not to be when I try to log in. Any ideas?

Thanks
