Titled "Salary".. it reads:
"Chewnet, hello I'm starting a new design biz and would like to know how much salary you make so i can compare. Thx for your time sorry if i bothered you."
What would you guys reply with? ;)

My finacial advisor says that if you need to see my accounts then a charge of $15,000 (USD) is needed in order to get our accountants to provide a true statement.
Please reply and I will give you our advisor his address for the cheque to be sent to.
End of story :)

It could legitimate, or just someone you know snooping. Either way it isn't really neccessary to answer directly.
I would reply (in case it is a legit question) with some generic statics, and maybe a link or two to some info on the subject.
That way it appears you are helping without giving out your personal info.
