I have few servers, and I'am pretty new in this, so I would ask you how many domains (place say in average per domain how much do you offer MB and bandwith) do you host per server, and how many domains would you suggest me to host on one of this server:
CPU 2 Ghz
512 MB RAM
80 GB HDD - ibm
bandwith is 500 GB
do you offer free bandwith to your clients or you charge for it?
Thanks for helping me.

None until you mirror the disks.
500 accounts with 1GB/mo, or umm... 250 accounts with 2GB/mo... unless you feel comfortable oversubscribing. Either way, that server could handle it just fine for a few hundred cheap accounts.

there is no such thing as unlimited bandwidth for a shared hosting account.
if you do accept unlimited bandwidth and dare to sign a contract with me, I can move one of my websites to your place.
the web site is perfectly legal . no downloads ` no porns , just regular stuff . it's a web site with half million users every day . I will use all your bandwidth and crash your server all the time.
but you must guarantee that I can sue you when you ask me to leave your server

There is no real set limit on how many sites you could host, it is how much resources they use. The vast majority of sites use little space or bandwidth.
Look around here http://www.webhostingtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=4 to get an idea of what others are offering. Then make hosting plans that you can live with. Bulk reseller plans are very popular. One plan would be say 1gb space 20GB bandwidth for say $15 - $20.
I do not recommend overselling at all but if you do keep it reasonable. What is reasonable? Maybe 10% to 15% on drive space. Remember you must be able to fulfill your contract with the clients.
Good Luck!

LOL. very funny indeed sonic. :)
Customers like you keep the industry honest and hosting plan designs realistic. Would you mind putting some of your sites on our competitions' servers?:D
My understanding is that everyone "oversells" a bit, I think the real question is how much they oversell by. I have 150 MB of space, and use about 10. If your plans total 100 GB of disk space (for all users combined), you'd probably get away with it just fine, but if you promised a total of several TB, you'd be in trouble.

Interesting Question,
How much differance does a big Cache make to a server in a real world enviroment? I have Dual Xeon 550Mhz 1mb Cache, 1 GB Ram and 30GB useable SCSI Raid. What could one "dump" on it?

upgrade your system to 1GB RAM and I say you can easily fit 300-350 websites on there.
