View Full Version : Flying-Hosts
Kunal Damani 08-30-2002, 02:01 PM Anyone else who use FH noticed a hiccup in their support system recently? I've been trying to get through to them for about a week now through their ticket system and via ICQ, although havn't had much success.
Strange as they would normally reply pretty fast :( Can't get our site online till this is sorted sigh :(
mickmel 09-16-2002, 09:55 AM I've been down all weekend and I can't get them to reply to support tickets, ICQ, PM, voicemail - nothing. This can't be good...
Geek3 09-16-2002, 10:32 AM sing to the tune!
"I'lll fly away! when i DIE halleluiah by and by.. i'll FLY away..
I WILL FLY AWAY, oh (something), I will FLY away.."
(repeat chorus)
Akash 09-16-2002, 10:38 AM This has gone a little too far now, one too many hosts being down for more than 2 days (most will probably never be back up)
EH, CW, EH, HP, FH, SH
.....maybe we can make a word out of it? :D
net-trend 09-16-2002, 11:00 AM Notice how 5 of the 6 hosts mentioned has the word "host" as part of their company name.
Maybe it's a sign?

HUH!!
mickmel 09-16-2002, 11:24 AM As far as I can tell, my server is still there. I can still ping it, and it sent me a bunch of Apache error messages yesterday before it crashed (for the second time).
This leads me to think that if I can get ahold of someone at that data center, they could reboot the server and I could at least get a copy of my databases off of it.
I don't suppose anyone knows what data center in New Jersey Flying Hosts used? They called it "NJC"...
AHHHH!

Jedito 09-16-2002, 12:44 PM Yes, they use VDI.net, but I guess that nobody go to reboot your server without their authorization, or at least they shouldn't reboot your server without theri authorization.

Cool - that's good info to have. I called them and they're supposed to call me back shortly. We shall see...
mickmel 09-16-2002, 03:10 PM Success! They've been sold to a company called "interserver". I called the number on the VDI.net website, and they were able to get me through to the interserver people. The site is back up now. :)
