Do you think it's worth getting spending a lot of hours per day sitting in front of the PC monitor promoting or maybe spamming/scamming to get more visitors to your company website without any real income.
hoping or maybe dreaming that he can compete with thousands or maybe millions of web hosting (without reseller) companies.
logic says, web hosting companies are much better for the customers , why? Because they can offer/provide unlimited advanced plans but (reseller) cant do.

Maybe its sound hopeless question, but I think it's an extremely general(personal) question ,
Share Your Experience , advice please

Like any business, the more effort you put into it, the better your returns. Building a successful business takes time and effort. That applies to reseller hosting as well. The best place to find customers would be locally, in your home town. Many potential customers will appreciate the personal touch you can bring and feel good, as well as secure, doing business with someone locally.

Reseller accounts are also great for web designers and developers that provide, or would like to provide, hosting to their customers. In addition to the added revenue, a reseller account allows them to readily service their customer's web sites.

I have to disagree with you as the business model you just listed is for these types of people.

A scammer would love to spam and do what ever it takes to get a client.
Example: Seller tells client that he/she will recieve a free $100 license, but at the end they receive nothing but the run around.

A person who shouldn't run a business if they can't make any type of profit. Yes, it may involve someone staring at a computer screen for numerous hours, but at the same time if they were smart enough they would find a way to be look at it less and still be productive.

The bottom line is the things you listed can of course be True, but at the same time its False. I can say their is numerous people who provide hosting services that are profitable. I for one can say that this is true from running my own business, but at the same time i'm not going to compare myself to the million dollar hosting companies.

Yes , I do believe in effort "the more effort you put into it, the better your returns" , but market (supply and demand( determines price and quantity sold in a market.
In another way . high demands always on the best price and quality.

I don’t thing its about smart or not smart , I think its about adding valuable additional services. if I cant then I am exploiting the ignorance of people and that’s make some lack of confidence.

Hi,

You said the magic word "valuable additional services". If people think that offering just shared hosting from a reseller account will be very profitable then they are mistaken. If you look at the majority of profitable hosting businesses they seem to offer more then just shared hosting, reseller hosting, virtual private servers, dedicated servers, and more.

My company offers many different services and that is the main reason why were able to remain profitable.

Yes, And in addition there are another "valuable additional services" like support, payment methods, and much much more.
Thank you Matt.G for your reply and good luck for you and for your company.

Hmm,

Is it worth spending hours to promote your company, that all depends on the person and how he/she views his/her success.

If you want your company to be above the competition and make more money, then yes, of course its worth it.

Is it worth scamming other people and taking their money, no way. One, its unethical and two, you should rather spend more time offering something of value, then to spend the same time taking people's faith and money away.

You can seriously damage your company's reputation.

It depends on you whether that is worth for you. As with any business I personally believe the more effort you put into it, the better the result will be.

I agree with that, I need to make more effort to success, but, still no definition of what meant by "effort".
if "effort" mean driving more visitors i think that still not enough.
i think its a matter of how to attract buyers / costumers not only (site visitors).
any tips?
