stay clear of edge-host Care to add your reasoning? "Stay clear" doesn't mean much on its own.
MAX POWER 08-31-2002, 07:50 AM If you like hosts that contain ME, then the only one that you should ever see must be HTTPme! :)
giffy 08-31-2002, 02:20 PM I agree to stay away from edge-host , bad story here but maybe it was just me waiting for 3 days writing tickets and emails to get what they offered me when i signed up, but they could not do as they promised , so i am waiting for my refund.
giffy
smartmlp 08-31-2002, 02:29 PM I get great support on the aol messanger all the time. They are on the messanger and will answer any questions. I have been with them for 3 months now and they are great. I dont know what happened with you, but I know what is happening with me.
Highly Recommened. :D
triality 08-31-2002, 02:36 PM i have bought a dedicated server from edge-host and it has been wonderful!! the server has never been down and its almost always lightening quick...there have been a few times where it has been slow but it was only slow for about 15-20 minutes.....edge-host is great i definetly recommend them
Layzee 08-31-2002, 05:22 PM Hmm.. I haven't had a problem with Edge-Host either.. I've always had fast support times and usually I just ask them a question through either AIM or ICQ and have it answered there. So far, I've received everything they advertised.
MAX POWER 08-31-2002, 09:09 PM promotehoste before you consider a host, the MOST important factor is SUPPORT, regardless of the price, server performance, or anything else! This is VERY important if you have little or no knowledge of UNix/win and the supplied control panel software etc. because if you do not have an advanced level of proficiency and do not have root access you will be relying totally upon the support received from your chosen supplier. No, little or poor support = Broken spirit, nervous breakdown or at the worst loss of life by heart attack.
mehost 09-01-2002, 03:12 AM hahha, mehost is short for Mercury Hosting. :) and httpme is also a fine company.

Please clear you reply. Are you pointing to any hosting company who is offering such support? Please make it more clear with the name and URL of that company.
Thanks.
MAX POWER 09-01-2002, 10:20 AM I believe my command of the English language to be of a high standard. I could not have been any clearer. :)
I stated: Before you consider ANY host, whoever they may be, make sure that they are able to supply YOU with adequate support, especially if you are a beginner. ;)
To do this; research your prospective hosts via the WHT search database and view the opinions of other users concerning the level of support offered. :D
I do not recommend any one particular host, but my favourite this month is: HTTPme.com
