I am using Netscape and get this error msg. everytime (for about the last two/three weeks) when I use: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/index.php to visit the site.

parameter incorrect

and I'm automatically forwarded to this URL:

http://statse.webtrendslive.com/S0013-01-2-24-227071-55910/button3.asp?tagver=3&SiteId=55910&Sid=0013-01-2-24-227071-55910&Tz=-500&firstwkday=monday&Edition=personal&Button=10&server=&order=&Group=&browserDate=Fri%20Mar%2016%2001%3A02%3A57%20GMT-0700%20%28Mountain%20Standard%20Time%29%202001&title=WebHostingTalk&url=http://www.webhostingtalk.com/index.php&referrer=[unknown origin]&appname=Netscape&appversion=4.72%20%5Ben%5D%20%28Win95%3B%20U%29&cookieOK=No&userLanguage=en&platform=Win32&bgColor=%23ffffff&javaOK=Yes&screenResolution=1024x768&colorDepth=24&NSpluginList=HyperSend%20Alert%20plugin

I only see this error upon initial visit of the day and going back to the index.php allows me to visit the site with no other problems.

So am I the only one that receives this error?

What version you using? Worked fine for me with 4.72.

Good try Chicken, but not quite.

Someone who is familiar with coding/working with, WebTrends, would see right-off-the-bat, that's where the problem is.

I would say the problem is the fact that I won't let WebTrends set a Cookie -- that doesn't expire until the year 2020 -- and WebTrends doesn't know what to do in this situation.

Ergo: the problem is not Browser related. ;)

Chicken, is it safe to assume you'll pass this on to the
powers that be? I think it's safe to presume lots of people
control their Cookies, and anyone else not allowing that
particular Cookie to be set, will be receiving the same error.

It is safe to assume that, yes :)

Do they? I don't anymore - it's just too much trouble and they are pretty harmless. I only knock off ones that try to send information to a different server. Cookies are pretty handy for the most part - forums are a good example..

You should learn to embrace the cookie :)

Be one with your cookie. Love your cookie.

I used to control them as well, then it just got to be too much of an annoying pain in the donkey to accept them all the time.

Different Cookies do different things. A good Cookie Program will allow "the individual" to decide what to do,
and then not have to think about it anymore. That's why I can accept the login Cookie, but not the 20 year one,
or accept some/none Cookies, from predetermined domains.

This way, if I don't got Milk, at least I'll have my Cookie Pal (http://www.kburra.com/)! :agree:

I have cookies off and I've never seen that error, and I use NetsCrap Communicator.
