I have been looking for a full Merchant Account for more than an year but have'nt found anything yet becuase my company is located in Pakistan.

Actually I did find more than a handful for providers willing to give me a merchant account but before I could apply sep11 came and all doors are closed and sealed for ppl outside the US.

Any help is appreciated, Thanks in advance.

Hello Ahmed,

I too have looked high and low for a full merchant account for a business not situated in the US. I believe the only company that provides a merchant account for non US clients is PlanetPayment.com

I believe they bill the clients with "Your Name by PP". However on searching WHT, PlanetPayment seems to have received the most useless in terms of customer service award.

So take an informed decision.

You can check into psigate.com although I do not know if Pakistan is recognized or not.

good luck in your search!

from what I understand from reading around here - the consensus seems to be that the best route is to incorporate in the USA (Delaware or Nervada, etc) and get a merchant account that way. Costs $$$ though.

I would like to get in touch with anyone who has done a delaware or nevada incorporation. If any one is willing to share their experience please reply to the post. This would be very helpful.

I have DTH incorporated in Delaware, what information would you like to know?

BTW, if you have your company incorporated in DE, go with Wells Fargo for a merchant account, avoid CreditService International like the plague.

Jedito : Thanks for the prompt response.
Can you take the time to list out the processes you have undertaken to incorporate your business in Delaware and how have you applied to Wells Fargo for the Merchant account.

Although I am not very clear on all the processes I am listing a few that are not very clear to me.

1) The charges you have incurred during Incorporation and are there any more continual charges that you incur now ?

2) Does Wells Fargo provide merchant accounts easily once you are incorporated in Delaware ?

3) Taxes ?

4) I presume Wells Fargo would credit your account in US for the transactions. How do you transfer the money from your US account to where you are situated

I believe some of these questions can be termed as too invasive to your privacy. However these questions have not been answered anytime before.

Warm Regards,

I used apelles.com for my incorporation, the total cost, include USA Bank bussines account, Merchant account, AuthorizeNet and EIN was $3200.

Its a expensive but for me, that I live in Argentina, it worth in peace of mind. Kathy Smith, who work there its highly recommended by me, she work very hard, and she'll give you daily updates about your incorporation if its required.

If anybody want her email address PM me.

That is pricy but if they get a real merchant account then not so bad, we incorporated in Delaware (we are UK based) and used http://www.ailcorp.com/index.jsp fast and cheap, then got our own bank account with Bank One, so far unable to get a merchant account - still needs a US social security number

BBi-Linux, try at wells fargo, you can get a merchant account using your EIN.

BTW, do Bank One provide you with a ATM and Mastercard CC?

That is what incorporating is all about. You will be creating an official US entity that can open its own bank accounts.

Yes I know about rehan and his Pakistan Computers. I know that guy has been invloved in every illegal scheme in pakistan. Thanks for thw warning. I already have a hostcharge account and I have talked to ppl at your-webhost but they did'nt give me a clear picture of what kind of merchant account they were going to give so I turned them down.

I have another great idea that just might let me use PayPal who have the lowest discount rates in the industry. I am thinking of opening a US bank account and then signing up with PayPal. But i'm not sure if that is allowed.

Just opening a US bank account is very very simple, however I have'nt done that yet.

There are several online banks that open accounts for non-us citizens. All we havre to do is fill our a form from the IRS which states that I am a non-US citizen therefore I do not have to pay US taxes and the online banks will open the account.

Also you will need to provide them attested copies of your passport, driver's licesnse by the US embassy. I'm not sure about this part though.

Check out TheBancorp.com and Netbank.com they provide online accounts for non-Us citizens.
