I am currently running a just starting out web hosting company, and I am wondering where do you guys advertise and post your websites to help get traffic and whatnot?

Any suggestions to bring in customers would be great, thanks for your help in advance.

We advertise on websites which we believe has the visitors we target primarily.

I find textual advertisements do better than banner advertisements. But then again that all depends.

I must agree on that one. It depends mostly on target you wish to hit. You may find WHT advertisements, Google adwords and mostly being around on as much hosting directories/communities as possible, but it cannot be set as a rule. It will depend on who you wish for your customers, and can vary in case you are going with certain niche marketing (which you should have most certainly).

You could always start with a signature on the WHT forums advertising your services...

We advertise on forums like WHT, occasionally in Google Ads and also we generally create contracts with small local businesses and firms.

Honestly, this is the best way - and how we started back in November. Some people don't believe this works, but it truly does once the word gets out locally.

What type of local advertising did you do?

Starters with easy / free advertising such as adding it in your signature anything people will see.

You can try google advertising , i'm thinking about it. Also there are Pay per leads and such im looking into.

I think local advertising, and classifieds are the most effective for small companies.

Local Advertising, Google Advertising and Media Avertising give the best results for most.

Media Advertising? You mean TV or Radio? aren't they too expensive?

You can try Internet Radio ads which work for most and if you can afford the costs, you can try the TV because i don't feel advertising on local offline radio channels would yield any good results. But TV does have influence.

Word of mouth is the greatest advertising.
Just offer quality services.

We advertise on GoogleAds as well as a few other sites that we pay for the advertisment. Word of Mouth is by far the best though.
