Here's a post from the HostRocket message board:

Is this bad news for them? Or is it a lie?

As a previous customer of HostRocket, I would say that they did an excellent job and very few times was I annoyed with their customer relations. I check back every so often to see what services/cahnges they've made and happened to run across this.

Well, even if it wasn't a lie, it's hardly a real indication of their level of service. Almost every hosting co. is going to have one bad apple out to discredit them at some time or another. If you answer their emails at 10 minutes, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, and 2 hours, some people are going to howl that it took so long for the last email to get answered - yet strangely say nothing if you answer their email every 24 hours like clockwork. *shrug*

Granted I made that up, but most people will understand what I'm getting at. Their popsicle analogy is a good one. It's usually the 'screaming minority' that will create the problem. People don't often mention how great a host is, but a few will rant at length over supposed bad support, whether it's justified or not.

Just part of the game I suppose...

Seems a bit rich to me that you dive through hostrockets support forums to find a compliant and then post it here ;-)

As greg said, it's not uncommon to have at least a small number of customers complaining about something...even if you spend hours on their problem alone, they'll still find something to complain about.

i was at the uunet.net site and saw one of their banners that says "...you are in charge of your company's webhosting if you do it good, nobody will thank you but if you somehow mess up(i dunno if this was the right word :P) then everybody will blame you..."

why are people like that, if the servers are up and runnin they dont even care to thank you but if its down even for 10 minutes they come and complain about it.. some people are just hard to please :)

Well, I as a customer don't thank for server up and running. It is their job to do and I am paying for it.
And I don't complain for server downtime as long as they explain why honestly but many host lie.
And I don't complain for not getting answers from a host. I just leave and move on to find another host :/

Note, the people complaining is not even a customer!
