Scout 07-15-2008, 12:12 PM Are they ok? anyone here have any experience with there windows platform? thanks Scout rcpersons1 07-16-2008, 12:56 AM For me there support was horrendous but I was on linux but then they didn't treat any of the other people that well that were on the fail over and I saw many fussing about issues on the failovers. I ended up leaving due to them not being able to control DDoS attacks like several times a month and then there DNS got messed up on me and I ended up getting threatening letters since one of my addon domains was pointing else where so I would stay away even if they are cheap. I don't know about the windows but my linux was horrible plus they were always having trouble with the data center so I left. That was about 7 months ago though. I think they were only starting the windows when I left though. Scout 07-16-2008, 08:22 AM I see.. thanks for the info. :) better look elsewhere then.. Shared hosting environment is not suitable for dealing with ddos attack. If your website receives DDOS attack regularly, you should consider VPS or dedicated server plus firewall solution for critical business website. rcpersons1 07-17-2008, 11:04 AM Shared hosting environment is not suitable for dealing with ddos attack. If your website receives DDOS attack regularly, you should consider VPS or dedicated server plus firewall solution for critical business website. Tell that to the people that are actually the primary targets of the attacks that bring everyone else down. The down time I was having if you base it on that I should not have a website for anything plus my sites being weren't being attacked. My sites were down for a 5 days or more each month at the end before I dumped them. Plus they didn't divide up the accounts to figure out which one was causing it for days so it was there fault. They just don't handle them well they just tried to wait them out I guess. ldcdc 07-17-2008, 07:20 PM DDoS happens, regardless of sites being a magnet for them or not. It's how the host mitigates them that really makes the difference. (this includes dealing with any users who's sites keep being attacked) On the other hand, one can't go budget and expect high end service. There's a limit to what can be accomplished when funds are restricted. iHubNet-Matt 07-18-2008, 11:44 AM resellerzoom has got good reviews. It would be worth trying them. I think they have got quite good plans for windows hosting now. archangelmr 07-18-2008, 12:20 PM My experiences with ResellerZoom.com are consistent with the others, except for iHubMatt. We found their shared "reseller" hosting services to be largely unsatisfactory, due to slowness/latency of their servers and general reliability issues. We were with them from (April through June 2008.) To their credit, however, they were responsive to our cancellation request, and did not give us a hassle or attempt to post any bogus charges. ptech 07-25-2008, 11:48 PM I still have a linux reseller account with RZ but moved my Windows hosting in 2007. The plesk control panel was so slow that what should be a 3 minut process would take 10 times that and the crontrol panels resources were so restricted it would timeout a lot. Aside from that and a few downtime issues the sites worked properly. kjawaid 07-26-2008, 01:48 AM I would never go with plesk control panel because it doesn't allow overselling try helm Scout 08-09-2008, 05:45 AM Yes, I just found out that plesk doesnt oversell.. too late though.. I have already moved about 10 of my clients there... man.. really wished hostnexus website would have warned about "no overselling.." |
