We're in the process of formulating a killer reseller plan and need some input.
Tell us what you think would be the Perfect Reseller Plan :)

The most effective plans usually involve creating a recurring revenue stream for your reseller.
If you pay them a %age every month and as this grows they begin to feel like they are a part of your business. The larger the share the greater the tie.
The best reseller plans also provide some form of automation solution for the reseller assuming that they are taking responsibility for admin.
I hope this helps.

1.A Cpanel so you can control your clients.
2.Exellent customer support! (the reseller doesn't know everything)
3.Cheap Prices (the cheaper the more they sell)
4.A thing so you can add as much accounts then you bill them for that at the end of the month!
(I know some are impossible!)

An automated account setup feature would probably be the biggest "Killer Reseller Plan" of all. I know a couple of company's are working on one venturesonline being one of them, but I don't think any are active.

Yes I think mostly plans themselves are just height, weight and size for the most part - much being as good as another. For a reseller to have something 'killer' to attract then you'd need to be looking at administration. In short giving them as much power as possible to the actual server owner themselves. Not root access or anything, but more ability to control plans selection etc.
- ability to set plan sizes and features
- ability to offer a custom package plan if requested
- automatic/manual plan setup/shutdown without needing to ask the upstream
- intergrated billing systems (real time)
- control over control panel features (additions /removal)
and for something REALLY cool...
- the ability for each reseller account to act as a 'master'. Software loaded onto it could be used globally for all accounts under that master account. In short, each reseller could offer different packaged software - kind of a mini server
Ok, the last one is a bit far out there, but maybe it'll happen one day. :)

I have been thru 3 reseller programs I agree with you all.
Control Panel for Hosted Accounts with Power options add/remove/change/monitor/ etc.
Customizable Resold Control Panel - so I don't have to keep fixing things that people do just becauses its in the control panel - ID10T erros
Custom DNS
If not automated billings maybe custom billing print outs. You (Reseller) Click on a button in your Host Control Panel and it send a Email/Bill to your hosted accounts for you with your info on it not host. **I like this one**
A No BS rule for the host. Don't tell me my site is down because the of a full moon.
HumanClick for reseller to techs - or chat.
Automateded tech support system - problem tracking etc...
Custom size on all features - meaning I can make a 10mb site with 10G's of transfer or a 100mb site with 2GB transfer.
Site monitoring. Auto check resold accounts for zips, mp3, warez, and alert reseller and host.
Just my 2 cents. Some host come close but there is always room for improvement.

I dont think resellers need a great big site offer ywo packages one for the small reseller like under $20, then a larger one for a more bigger reseller for like $30 tell me that would not sell. The less overhead the more profit they make, inturns makes you more money
