I'm signing up with a host that is fairly new. I was wondering about credit card fraud. Is it common? How to prevent it? Things I should do?

I mean, can't any Joe Shmoe open up a hosting company, take your credit card and charge it up? Or even worst give it away or sell it?
Thanks
Robert

Look at who the company's credit card processor is, and make sure that all the order forms are secure (look for the lock in the lower right hand corner of the browser window).
edit: hosts using services such as 2checkout do not really have much control, aside from how much they charge you (and that is shown to you on the final order page), and they can't see your cc number.

but you are right, many new companies can not be trusted too well, but you could always chargeback if something happens.

my personal suggestion: if you are weary, do not sign up with them....

Incase such an incident happens, always do a charge back....
Look for a reputable host instead of going with the suspicious ones...
