If a enom reseller/sub-reseller closes down, is your sub-account also closed if you bought from them?

I thought someone posted that a subaccount would not be removed if the parent account was removed (or attempted). 'Them', being the reseller, can raise your prices, yes.

Correct. If your "parent" reseller closes down, then your account is still ok. However, your "parent" reseller can easily change your prices...

This is why people should be very careful about who they choose to be their "parent" reseller. Sometimes a price difference of 10 cents isn't worth risking your business!
