Since domain names are dropped between 14~15pm EDT on the 6th day of pending delete status, can I register a domain name (registered with GoDaddy) manually during this time? what's the possiblity that backorder service providers will be faster than me to grab it?

What do you recommend?

If the domain is on the list of one of the backorder services (and when you made a search for the domain on one of there site it is) then you have no chance to register it manually.
If you really want the domain place a backorder (but not with GoDaddy).

Depend on the domain you want to get.
There is NO chance you can hand register if the domain is good domain since...
Many other people probably want same domain and many registrars will try to grab backordered domains. Further more, drop catching services will catch before registrars since average registrar has one feed and each drop catching services typically has 100s of feeds.

So, if your wanted domain is good domain and you must have it...
backorder it as many place as possible plus backorder it at three major drop catching services. They are Namejet.com, Pool.com and Snapnames.com

You may have to win it at one of the drop catchers auction if you are not only person wanting that domain name.
