Hi, all. This is my first post here. :)
The info in all these posts has been invaluable. I've built a few sites, but I'm far from knowledgeable!
I want to have two separate addresses point at the same site. For example, a user could type in either 'address1.com', or 'otheraddress.org', but they both take you to the same web page.
Does that take a special hosting option? Or is it just a matter of registering the 2 addresses?
Thanks!

You really have 2 choices (from what i know of) to chose from.
1) You can find a host which supports multiple domains. I've never done this so i don't know how to work it. Maybe someone else can explain more.
2) Set 1 domain has a redirection through a redirection service pointing to the other one.
correct me if i'm wrong ;)
Yes you can have a hosted domain account that does this. Several providers have this option on their hosting plan. But either method from above works out just as well :)

Yup! In fact, i love pulling stuff like this off. You can either have 1)a domain pointer setup (which i know some hosting folk do) OR 2) have a multiple domain setup (as mentioned above) and have your .htaccess point to it. So many possabilities! As for ecpHosting, i have about maybe 6 different domains pointing to it. to see an instant example of this, type in ecphosting.com in your URL and watch it INSTANTLY take you to the .net site. Or you can type in truewalkhosting.com OR .net and it take you. That is set up using step 2.
The magic of forwarding. :) Im sure there's many more possabiliites!

Rich,
That went by so fast, I didn't quite follow it.
Could you tell me a bit more about "a web server alias"?
Thanks!

In your web server configuration, you can use aliases. How you or your hosting company do it depends upon your server. With your DNS you need to have those names (aliases) point to the correct IP.
You can just tell your hosting company, you need to use a web server alias and they should know what you mean.

Rich, thanks for the explanation, and thank you all for your answers.
Right now, I'm exploring potential hosts, and I am glad to have a great resource for advice. So I'll be posting that question soon (I hope!)

You can set your other domains to redirect to the main website url. :)
