Does anyone use charge.com? I was looking and they look like a good website. If you could, please tell me about how easy it is to set it up with your website, and of any problems you have had with them. Thank you!

If you could, please tell me about how easy it is to set it up with your website, and of any problems you have had with them. Thank you! Justin S 03-15-2001, 07:20 PM I have a merchant account with Charge.com, and must say it's been working like a charm for almost a year. They reply very fast to support requests, as does the Internet gateway company they setup me up with - EFTSecure. While I don't have the payment system integrated into my site, it's pretty easy to do using their Windows software. Their virtual terminal is what I use, and I like it a lot. everyone 03-15-2001, 07:35 PM May I ask how much you pay total per a month? It is somewhat unclear on their website what is mandatory and what is optional. Did you have a merchant or business account before going to charge.com? Are you part of their referal plan, because if you are and I sign up, I would like to give you credit. Thank you for your help! Justin S 03-15-2001, 08:05 PM I have just a regular Internet merchant account with a real-time gateway. The minimum I pay is $50/month, which includes everything, then 2.39% + .30 (or whatever it is) cents for each transaction. No, I'm not part of their affiliate program, but thanks for offering to do that :) TheComputerGuy 03-15-2001, 09:37 PM Well I wouldn't mind just getting their services throught my web site, i dont see how much they charge total for it, does any see the total, i will email them, everyone 03-15-2001, 10:45 PM When you get an email back please let me know. I am intrested in using them. But to me, it looks like the $10 statement fee, the Real-Time with Virtual Terminal Gateway Fee which is $15, plus either buying or renting a terminal. I am not sure about this but it is something like that. Does anyone also know if they give discounts to schools? Thanks again. TheComputerGuy 03-16-2001, 07:44 AM I didnt know you had to have a terminal everyone 03-17-2001, 09:32 AM I sent them an email, and they said, "I would recommend using our Virtual Terminal for processing your orders. Our Virtual Terminal is a web-based processing system. Charge.com would provide you with a user I.D. and a password to access a secure and coded website. On this web site "also referred to as the virtual terminal", you would be able to place manual credit card charges, refunds, and review previous processing history all in real time! The purchase price is 195.00 including the Virtual terminal and the merchant account. The fees are as follows: 2.35% discount rate, 30 cents per transaction, 15.00 monthly gateway access fee, and 10.00 monthly bank statement fee. There is a 25.00 monthly minimum on all of our accounts." Now, if that $25 minimum on all acconts they say. But you are required to have some type of terminal. Their options are PC software, Terminal (swipe through), and virtual terminal, for realtime processing. I am a host, and they said they would help me set it up with my system. They seem like a good choice. Chris 03-17-2001, 08:44 PM I would have to say for a new hosting company revecom.com is probly the best bet to go with... No monthly fees, you only pay on transactions. everyone 03-17-2001, 09:19 PM I like charge.com because it will work with my billing system and I have more control. TheComputerGuy 03-17-2001, 10:08 PM how much is a start up fee for ravecom BW 03-17-2001, 10:12 PM I would recomend you all take a look at http://www.creditcardprocessor.com as they offer better rates and do not charge a monthly minimum. They also offer a real time terminal although its more expensive. You might want to use Verisigns virtual link which is under 200, and 19$/Mth I believe for the terminal part. -BW Tim Greer 03-21-2001, 06:07 AM Does anyone know about or use any sort of on-site form that posts locally via SSL and then sends a request to that company's CC server via a secure connection to it, so youcan process and have everything set up locally in one go? I've created a script to do all this for a company, but I was just curious if anyone's used this with charge.com or the other's mentioned? I'm likely going to need a solution like this soon and I am looking into whom I can use such an interface with, so I can keep it all local, and just let the remote CC server confirm or deny their payment and depending on the results, activate a service or not. The one this company uses, I don't like too much. So, please let me know if these other's do such, or I can just email them too, when I have time. everyone 03-21-2001, 07:02 PM BW: I looked at that place, and I think it is better than charge.com and they do not make you go to another website to make people place orders from your site. Do you use them? Can you tell me some things that might be helpful to me? Thanks for all of your help |
