I came across this pop behind and it was flash like and it said "I am spying on you" and i was like "god what a supreme hacker in my computer" and i stopped all net traffic and had a look and it turns out it was a pop up advertising some spying toy thing.

There was some website I was on recently (as in, this week) - I forget which exactly, but it was one of those large portal sites.

Anyway, I read reading an article when a stupid flash ad started bouncing around the screen. It stopped over the text I was reading and I couldn't move it.

Needless to say I was extremely annoyed. I don't think an advertisement (including popups) has ever annoyed me as much as this one.

I hat the Cars.com ads, and stuff. The fly around, consume half the screen, and you can't close them til they are done.

Besides these "bouncing" ads, I hate the ones that pop-up then install some kind of search thing onto your browser.

Gator ads as well... :D

Banners arent working, pop under ads arent working, so now they are just taking over the entire browser.

Ad free browsers... lol isn't there one out there?

Although not as annoying, I think the worst are the ads that masquerade as a "security alert" and look like a Windows error message. My poor mom was so freaked out the other day when she saw one that she was afraid to use the web after it told her her IP address was being broadcast over the Internet, and of course she didn't know what that meant... she sent me a "HELP!!!" email. I reassured her and told her it was just an ad, but I'm not sure she entirely believed me.

The exact same thing happened to my own Mother..."OH GOD! I'm being hacked! I've got the "IP Address" virus!"

Those moving ads are very annoying. Whats with this "stuff it in my face and I will buy it" attitude? Or is it more like "Seeing as how you wouldn't click on our banner, we are getting in your face, so buy it already"?
Bullcrap! It isn't my fault your pathetic attempt at making a living by sitting on your bum and doing nothing more than making my internet surfing less enjoyable isn't working for you. Maybe you need to get a real job.

Anyway, I block them completely with 0click.
When I get an annoying ad, I check the url in the source code, and once I enter it in my list, they are never allowed to connect to my computer again. I also block the cookies, too.
Now when I surf sites with many ads, there are lots of mini 404's all over the page. :D

Worse than those bouncing "floaties" are the ones that suddenly go full-screen, obliterating every other screen on our computer. And of course, to make matters worse, the "click here to close" button is about the size of a gnat and you have to peer all over the site to find it! :uzi:

I got a window that couldn't be closed at all. No rightclick or anything worked. I had to use "Close all open windows" to get rid of it, so I had to keep it up until the info I needed was downloaded. It was so hard to find in the first place, so I was afraid to close anything until I was done.
