I'm looking for an established merchant company that I can setup an account with.
Im looking for a true merchant account - not pay pal etc
This is for a hosting startup - internet orders with WHMCS
Can anyone suggest me a company that they are using?
I would also like phone support from the company as well.
many thanks!

You can try PSIGate, they can also be easily integraded into most of the billing softwares.

I would highly suggest Authorize.net -- excellent company.
2Checkout receives a lot of positive mention, as well, although it's been quite some time since I have used that company (so I can't speak as to how it is now).

CDGcommerce is my absolute favorite until now.

CDGcommerce has always been good for me, never gives me problems.
Just note CDGcommerce is for USA only, they do hwoever have plans for Canada, but thats a lengthy process.
Thank you all for your feedback.
I am located in NYC.
I worked for a big merchant company here, but they are too strick with oline business and their risk department is strick. They require rolling reserves ETC ... they pretty much only do retail business..
Thats why I thought it would be a good idea to ask here, since I need a merchant account for a hosting company.
CDG - I did check them out previously and their prices are good for online processing. I glad they have positive reviews as I might be giving them a shot.

Moneybookers.com is another good company and support is 9/10 5-20mins reply unlike most places.

We have clients that have been using MOneybookers but left due to very poor support.
In many cases they have been waiting over a week to even get a reply and this is not an isolated case. We have heard that from many of our clients.

Since you are located in NYC then your choices are pretty much open to what you need. There are several really great processors out there that handle E-commerce and will not over price your account. Always look at the rates you will be paying and since you are in the credit card business you know what to look for when someone waives something they make it up some where else 9 times out of 10.

On a side note Moneybookers.com has been getting a lot of complaints on there customer service side... Phone calls landing on death ears.

Authorize.net you will have very great support. Also 2checkout will have a lot of charge backs. Authorize is safer than that.

Authorize.net is a payment gateway, not a merchant processor. Are you looking for a virtual gateway or a merchant account?
