Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone could give us a brief summary of what we can do to protect our DNS servers from unauthorized usage.

Recently we have been getting many "Additional NS Record" and "Additional-A record" for a website and IPs that we have never heard of, the problem is that it is causing too much strain on the server and causes it to slow down significantly. What can be done to prevent this? is there a way to block these ips from touching our servers??

Thanks for all of your help

You probably have your name server set up to act as a secondary and are allowing others to use it as a secondary. You will probably want to turn off this feature.
