Hello to all -
I've read many horror stories from good reputable hosting companies to the worst of the worst about suspending reseller accounts due to one of the resellers' customers breaking the box due to some script or activity.
For those who have had their reseller accounts suspended -
What caused it? (chat script, spam relay, memory hogg script, etc.)
This is the one biggest fear of many resellers - having your reseller account suspended and affecting ALL of your customers because of one malicious/unintentional customer.
I'd like to get a list compiled of all the bad stuff not to allow customers to run.
Thanks for everyone's feedback!

Some customers setup a script and they don't update it ever. Or some customers sites can be use many CPU, Ram... etc. or get many http connection simultaneously because of they get many visitors. But reseller hosting providers must suspend the resold account only. If they suspend reseller accounts when they are unreliable companies. Ask this subject to reseller hosting providers before buying and stay away this unreliable companies.

It's not common to suspend the whole reseller account when only one website violates TOS.
As dhcart said, all scripts running should be updated to the latest version.

It's not feasible to do so.
Spammer bots run day and night scanning websites for bug to exploit.
Any website can get hit one day, either the spammers fetch spam script to the website hosting space or the bot causes script running ridiculously.

I understand your frustration, but at the same time a reseller or shared hosting is VERY LIMITED. If your worried about suspensions or having to argue with your host about it consider a VPS or Dedicated Server. A reseller account is that big of a difference from the price of a VPS.

It all depends on the TOS of the hosts. Some suspend the whole reseller but some suspend only the account that is causing the issue. You should go through the terms well before choosing the host.

Make sure you screen out the fraud orders carefully, as they're the most likely ones to cause trouble. I doubt there's any reputable reseller hosting provider that will suspend an entire reseller account, unless there's something very wrong going on, like the reseller himself sending spam, 50% of his end users hosting warez, that kind of thing.

Also it is the job of the reseller host to make sure they dont allow any type of applications which cross the TOS.

Certainly, and in this case you must have a ToS matching to your host. This will take you to a secure side.
