I want to do the reselling business of servers. Which is the best company for it. How is Alabanza? Anyone doing reselling of alabanza.
How about dialtoneinternet , rackspace, skynetweb or webreseller.net
Please suggest me.

You cannot resell for Alabanza.

You can:

i) lease a server through them (very expensive)
ii) resell for a company that leases the server from them.

Can you refer me any company??
Your server is also on Alabanza..
Are you reseller of them?

MSW

No, we are not a reseller of Alabanza. We lease some of our servers from them.

You may want to check into this thread:

It will give you a great place to start looking.

Jolly, many companies used Alabanza until that time when Alabanza decided to increase prices so much. Some of them still have their alabanza server but they expand by leasing new servers from other companies.

VDI seems to be the most popular around here now.
For you as a reseller, VDI offers the WebHost Manager which enables resellers to do almost everything directly (depends on how much authority the host is giving you).

You can not resell for VDi directly, rather you should contact one of the hosts using them.

Jolly, could you clarify something? Do you want to:

Resell (offer the virtual account packages of an established host - they take care of server).

Lease dedicated server (you lease a server from a company and take care of it.

Lease managed server (you lease a server but your provider takes care of updating and adding accounts, etc.

-or ??? if none of the above.

Alabanza is having some _serious_ problems.

We still have a handful of servers online with them, but 95% of our servers are at Abovenet now.

Anyway, I wont get into details here, but I would strongly advise against doing anything with Alabanza until and if they sort out their support and network problems.

It is amazing to me that a company with thousands of servers online can't provide basic technical support.

Cheers

Would you mind detailing some of the problems they are having? We're don't/wouldn't use them, but I am curious. They are based out of Baltimore, about 45 minutes away from me, maybe I should offer them my consulting services :).

My apologies.

I saw a list of companies mentioned and just wanted to include mine in the list. We wholesale like they do.

Thank you for your consideration.

"Gee I guess I should have read the rules!!!"

Gee Franc, really? Once is a mistake, Twice is just pushing your luck. I'm sure you're not so far out of touch that you don't know how a forum works in regards to reading the rules....

I do not want to miss out on this forum as I think it is an amazing source of information and conversation.

I broke the carpenter's rule: measure twice cut once.

I promise not to do it again. Follow my posts.

I have one question. If someone asks about my company am I allowed to respond or should I take it offline?

Franc,

The best solution would be to acknowledge the post in a reply saying something like:

"Saw your post potential-customer-X" and have sent you an email"

Poke the email button under their post and contact them directly.

I suppose (and the mods will have to verify this), if it's related to your services *directly* and may be of concern to other people (accusations of overbilling, poor support - you know, the bad stuff), then you should be allowed the opportunity for a defence.

In effect, we can't mention our services directly beyond a sig, and a posting in the ad section. If however there is cause for answering a question *directly* addressed to a company then the company has a reasonable chance for reply. Generally people know when they're slipping in ad in under the radar, and so does everyone else.

Franc,

No problem. I hope you do stick around. Hostopia is known to quite a few people and I've personally seen the flying pigs in quite a few places. It'll be good to hear from someone's who got their name out there already in a lot of people's minds.

The thing that makes this forum great is the wide range of host sizes and types, all acting together as a community. The mod's and their trademarked "Big Stick" keeps everything in line and productive. I'm sure you can imagine what this place would look like if it were nothing more than ads post after post.

Ummm, all the *other* web hosting forums out there, heh heh???

Franc, if someone asks about your company, you can let them know you are available (make sure your email icon is visible). Ultimately what we ask is that you (in no way) self promote your services. That means if someone asks for a reseller host, you keep quiet and wait for members to recommend you, or feel free to recommend a firm that you feel might fit the post.

If you keep this in mind, you'll be fine. Enjoy the forums, and if you have any questions feel free to contact any of the moderators or all of the moderators. :)

Welcome!!!

As a company that leases from Alabanza, we've seen some ups and downs. Still every company has had some kind of problems. Read the forums and all you hear about are the struggles that people are having. I'm confident that you will find problems wherever you go but there is one thing that is very important and unique about this busines.

Hosting is the first business I've seen where I can get help and support from my direct competitors. Hosts seem to have a, "We're all in this together" attitude. So whomever you select, you'll surely find that someone here on the forums will be there to help you out.

Mods, please delete all posts from these characters. Rules of the board have been broken.

The little round yellow thing with the happy face in it means I was just having some fun. I doubt I'm the sort of person that would scare anyone, and you can rest easy knowing I'm very relaxed.

Welcome to the board by the way - nice start ;)

Can we return this thread back to the bowels of the board again...

FYI, since our rocky start together Franc and I get along quite well now. I'm quite sure we've even shared a joke or two :)
