Im about to give them a years worth. I have been designing with flash for about 16 months now and used geocities for most of the playing I've done. I went to search for a host and realized I know nothing about hosting who's good who's not? I have been highly recormended buy the flashkit guys to come on over to this forrum and ask them.

From your experience is this any good http://www.icdsoft.com/hosting.php# and what are your suggestings? On having a look thru the forrum I wasn't sure what was spam and what was not so could some of you more experienced guys tell me what's good and what's not(maybee on first inpressions I just stuck a few spam threads). I'm about to dive in.:)

With just a quick look, that host doesn't look too bad. I guess you could give them a try, and tell us how they are.. :)

Otherwise, you should go with some better-known hosts.

:rolleyes: talking about kicking them when they are down. hmmmm. Well didn't know my site was down untill I read this post. I have been with icdsoft since about Aug 5th & I am very pleased. Great support. Always get back to you in 20 minutes or less. Now this is the first time I seen my site down ever.

oh, and the only problem I had was getting my stats working, but they fixed that quickly with my support ticket and then I had a problem password protecting it, but they had no problem fixing that for me either. It may have been my faught because I was new.

yeah you are right, since I am running a music fan site I asked about streaming music also. and:

"Real audio only if it's prerecorded, we do not support streaming"

but for the price & the service, it meets my needs.

No phone numbers I am guessing because they are based out of Hong Kong I believe, but they do state that if you need to talk to somebody, then you can. They just want you to go through there ticketing service first I guess which is quick.

but for $60 US a year....... I'm happy

It all sounds good and I just read thru a list of the customer review's and they all sound fairly happy with it accept with the odd hickup wich seemed to be solved quicky. The one thing they say is the customer support is good. I hope they stream flash mp's swf because i will have to have that it's the best way to stream in backround ambients and stuf. You've got me worried there I think maybee its only real player thats differant? My needs are small but i'm looking at exspanding and learning PHP and anything else that comes hand in hand with designing. So want to have the options there. I want to stay with the one place for a long time that's why I'm being so careful! Geocities has been good for my apprentaship nothing ever went wrong plenty of space 20MB.
I don't think the site will get hit alot so that side of it won't matter mutch. I like the look of the control panel with icdsoft Nonchalant you must have been unlucky to experience it down I didn't even notice it they say 99% uptime so I guess that was 1% downtime. Well they all seem good it seems it's almost down to what name you like.
Also since I'm doing web design I'm thinking can I offer the hosting in a package for people then I can say well we offer this package sign up for this hosting and buy a domain name and have your site made all in the package? Then so that you don't have to worry about anything it's all done for you.

Ok it's been eight months and i have been with these people www.icdsoft.com and they have been impecable. absolutly fantastic service and quick , i have only had to ask for support about 5 times and the record shows every answer was done within ten minutes some down to five. I have only had one prob lately and that was not there fault but a hacker loggen into the control panel and downloaded a heap of bandwidth thru links on his site. costing quiet a bit and icdsoft.com won't pay for it totaled $250 of one month.

Anyway i was wandering if anybody knows a good hosting servers that also offer the new Flash communication servers on it plus all the benifits of your stardard hosting or even just Flash Com alone?
