Today Directi increases prices! .info becomes $9.99
What is the reason?
Will this unpopular marketing policy bring him benefit?

To be honest, $9.99 is fairly high for a .info. How much we're they before the price change?

Actually $9.99 is the price in the lowest slab. As a reseller with a decent amount of domains, it shouldn't be a big problem to get competitive pricing. If you are in their top slab, you get a price of $6.99 which is quite good, i guess.
But look for yourself: http://www.resellerclub.com/pricing

We are using them to register domains only for years and paid more than $15000 in total until today.

As others said it was a promotion price and always clearly stated like that.
The also always announce from when till when a promotion runs, which is very fair.
Further they are once of the few registrar which passes on almost all promotion from the registry to the resellers which is very fair.

You can reach the slab without paying, just by selling domains or hosting.
