CEO of a company named "Top Secret" develops performance parts. As a part of a demonstration he decided to show off by running 200+MPH (322 KPH) on the A1.

I can push 125-130 out of mine and the engine is totally un-modified. But this coming year I have plans :)

There was a Nissan Skyline they took onto a German auto-barn, got it up to 348km/h I think. Street legal as far as I know.. :eek:

On Exvitermini there is a video of a Skyline GTR R33 on a rolling road with a couple of people sat on the back of the car ;)

Just when you think it's reving to it's max it goes further!!!

The Skyline just has soo much potential for modding!!! :D

It was the Callaway Sledgehammer. It put out about 880hp at the wheel.... Although the car is NOT a production car. Only one has ever been made.

The worlds fastest production car argument is usually a very long and bloated conversation with no real end. Some numbers I can spot off the top of my head are:

Lingenfelter Corvette = 226mph (Modified Corvette)

McLarenF1 = 240mph (Yes this is the fastest but, at one millions dollars a pop I would strectch to call it a production car)

Lambourghini Diablo GT = 211mph.

Jaguar XJ220 = 220mph (And it's a 3.4L V6!)

Hennessy Venom Viper = 214.7 (But, Hennessey is going to jail for fraud so, I don't know if I trust their numbers anymore)

But, for are rational argument purposes the fastest a car has ever traveled on the ground goes to the Thrust SSC driven by Andy Green. At Black Rock Desert, Nevada in 1997 he traveled 763.035.

As with all of the recorded speeds above these cars were stripped down to be rolling cans with seats and engines for their top speed runs.

My personal award will goto Banks Engineering. The hold the record for the fastest passenger car in existence.
They ran twin-turbo Ford Firebird that produced 1800hp on the Bonneville Salt flats in 1987 @ 287mph! Now mind you this is on straight gas (not methenal, acohol). The car had optional tilt-wheel, power windows and an AM/FM cassette player....

Well i was thinking that too because the police car looked as if it was going even faster than that car.
