bido.com -- A new auction house for domain names just launched.

1 auction a day, 1 hour a day, and it starts at 1:00PM.

It's a different focal point from Sedo.com which lists millions of names, Bido.com only auctions one a day.

Here's the press release:

I didn't see anything about it here so I thought I would post.

Thanks!

Nice site - I'm watching the price go up on the current auction (cerealbox.com currently @ $216)- ends in 38 minutes.

It's billed as a 1 hour auction but ends 5 minutes after the last bid. Is this typical of domain auctions? The price jumped from $455 to $1200 in the last 5 minutes (before the top of the hour) and ended at $2,695 12 minutes after the hour.

There's an extension. It's pretty typical, so you can't snipe the auction. If you bid in the last five minutes it extends up to five minutes and then starts the countdown again.

I'm pretty sure much domain places do that, such as tdnam.com on their auctions.

Yep. It's typical. All the big dropcatchers auction their domains with an extension if there is a bid in the last couple of minutes. As somebody else said TDNAM too. It's a good and fair system if you're a bidder. All the action normally occurs in those last few minutes and the extension.
