Anyone seen these two sites:

DesertHosting.com:
http://www.deserthosting.com/english/

LinuxWebHost.com:
http://www.linuxwebhost.com

Are they related to each other? I searched here but couldn't find any remarks about DesertHosting. I'm already familiar with LWH.

linuxwebhost have loads of sites selling hosting in my opinnion. When I was looking for a shared account I found lots of copyright notices for rogers internet services on different sites but the packages were VERY similar as they are all run on Alabanza servers.

BUT after saying that I did a trace on both linuxwebhost and http://www.deserthosting.com/english/ and deserthositing is a ***** reseller I think. It is certainly hosted on a ***** server! If you don't know all about reviews of ***** search the forum.

In my oppinion linux web host it ok but there support is a bit slow and they servers are no where near 99.9% up and they put loads I mean loads of sites per server. Also they don't tell you when it is going down for something it just isn't there for a while.

Wow... unless Desert Hosting and Linux Web Host are owned by the same person (and according to the Whois record they are not), someone is ripping off someone else's design & content. Considering that the deserthosting.com domain name was registered just five days ago (so much for the "successful full time hosting company for over 2 years providing hosting to more than 6,000 web sites" quote on their website), I would speculate that they (Desert Hosting) are the rip-ers and Linux Web Host is the rip-ee.

Why would someone called "Desert Hosting" want a penguin as their mascot anyway? (I know, it's Tux the Linux penguin, but still, you'd think they'd go with a cactus or something).

Note to Admins: I accidentally posted twice, but I can't delete this second post, I can only edit it. When trying to delete it, it tells me I'm not logged in.

linuxwebhost.com have had that site design for ages so I would aggree desert are the ones that copied it.
