I use both, too. Grew up saying "soda" and then moved to the Midwest where "pop" rules.

I think some mid-westerners still say soda like St.Louis and Chicago :)

You must have missed The Great Pop vs. Soda Controversy (http://www.ugcs.caltech.edu/~almccon/pop_soda/) that AffordableHost alerted us to a month ago (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=58585).

I say "A Dew" most often than not, but second choice goes to "Soda"

Now is it a wallet or a billfold? <<== My DH and I don't see eye to eye on this one :stickout

No matter what kind of cola, most of us in the south refer to it as "coke".

"Want a coke?"
"yeah"
"What kind?"
"Dr. Pepper".

Soft drink here - if you used the other terms here, people would stare at your blankly wondering what on earth you're talking about :stickout.

God damn I never realized how many people did NOT say soda. I've always called it soda and it annoys me to hear it called pop. Soft drink I can stand but its too long winded for soda. :D I used to have a friend from Michigan and she would argue with me over pop vs soda. Nobody ever won....but its SODA damnit! :D

Call each drink by it's name. Never heard POP though. Think the closest translation in my language would be Soda. Old version: Soda Water. :)
