I have no idea where to post this, but I think this might be a good place.

I wanted to possibly get some Website monitoring software. When my site was down, I just want to be able to know for how long it was down and stuff, for future reference. I know there are web services out there, that offer it for free. But, they check every 60 minutes at the least, while I want shorter intervals.

Anyway, would any of you know of a good freeware one that checks http, and not ping the IP? The site was down because of "httpd", or something like that, but I could still ping and get to CPanel.

Thanks!

EyeOnSite (http://virdi-software.com/eyeonsite) .
Monitor 2 sites for free - http, ftp, smtp, pop3. You can set your own interval, even different ones for when up and when down.

Which companies allow you to monitor more than one server?

I've tried a few different monitoring service, but the best one has to be Alertra.com (http://www.alertra.com/), it allows mutiple server monitoring, with mutiple ports and it's very reliable... I use it on the Rackspace servers that we have and also the private servers that I manage. Do a search on these forums and you'll find a lot of comments on this topic already, instead of waiting for members to post their comments again.
