Darth 07-18-2002, 08:35 PM Very nice offer but a $299 setup fee :bawling: still a good deal though :)
ballofire 07-18-2002, 08:49 PM Here (http://www.zerosetup.com/dedicatedspecial.htm) it shows $0 setup fee but here (http://www.zerosetup.com/dedicatedcomparison.htm) it shows a $299 setup fee. Now, color confused, but which one is it? :confused: :eek:

Bengal 07-19-2002, 12:38 AM Failed to mention the 1-year contract and lack of any type of control panel or brand names. I wouldn’t bother solely because the advertisements are so purposely misleading.
aquos 07-19-2002, 12:45 AM Any CP, IPs included? What about MS SQL for Windows? etc.
Thanks.
ZeroSetup 07-19-2002, 03:00 AM "Any CP, IPs included? What about MS SQL for Windows? etc.
Thanks."
It comes with Webmin, we are working on getting Hsphere installed on it. This will come in a few weeks. You get 5 free IP numbers with every server. It must be justified.
"Failed to mention the 1-year contract and lack of any type of control panel or brand names."
1 Year contract is mentioned on the web site. "Special Requires 1 Year Contract. Cancel any anytime and get prorated refund. " ~http://www.zerosetup.com/dedicatedcomparison.htm
"Here it shows $0 setup fee but here it shows a $299 setup fee. Now, color confused, but which one is it?"
We have two series of servers. The ProServer Series which does have a setup and the ZeroSetup Series server which does not have a setup fee.
"Very nice offer but a $299 setup fee still a good deal though " Thank you for the honest comment. We do not know how long it will last, we have been getting a lot of orders.

eddy2099 07-19-2002, 03:35 AM What CP would be installed for the Win2k system ?
Dedicated 07-19-2002, 03:41 AM I have signed with your company over 3 days ago and still waiting to hear from you. I have only recieved one email
Thanks for your purchase of the ZS1000. Have you received the contract from us yet? We need you to fax in the contract before we give you the system. Thanks
I did reply to that email yesterday and still have not received anything :confused:
ZeroSetup 07-19-2002, 03:47 AM "I have signed with your company over 3 days ago and still waiting to hear from you. I have only recieved one email "
I am sorry to hear about the delay. Surprisingly, even with the huge amounts of orders we are getting, we have been fulfilling them rather quickly. However, you need to sign the contract before your order can be reserved. It is currently 12:47 MIDNIGHT PST and we still have guys building servers for customers. Lots of coffee :)
From what I read in your message, you need to fax us a signed contract before your server can be built.

ljprevo 07-19-2002, 09:33 AM Here under the $49 special it says 400 GB Monthly Transfers, 80 gig drive
http://www.zerosetup.com/dedicatedspecial.htm
But when you click "More Details"
You goto:
http://www.zerosetup.com/dedicatedcomparison.htm
And that $49 server only has 100 GB Monthly Transfer, 40 gig drive.

Indeed. It is mentioned (in nice small text) on the site, but not in your original post, which was the point of my comment. I just feel it's a rather important bit of information to exclude. Then again, the majority of your site is misleading, so why not your posts.
MegaNetServe 07-19-2002, 10:27 AM What do you charge for Windows 2000 Server License. or Do I need to bring my own license?
MaLuBoB 07-19-2002, 10:39 AM what ljprevo said is right. why is there two different specifications for the $50 server? one has 80 gigs of space, the other has 40. one has 400 gb bandwidth, the other has 100? Which is it for real?
BiGWill 07-19-2002, 10:44 AM i'd take the one with 80gig and 400gig bandw :D
MaLuBoB 07-19-2002, 10:46 AM I will definitely too, but something tells me that that deal is not gonna be there anymore soon. :) If it is, man that is one sweet deal.
Coolium 07-19-2002, 12:36 PM Here's another freaky FAQ question:
K1. Do you guys offer any price protection guarantee?
At the moment, we do not have any price protection guarantee. However, if you pay in advance, you will get that rate as long as your subscription period.
LMFAO!
Coolium 07-19-2002, 12:40 PM Watch out you people who purchased $50/mo server!
B) Dedicated Products: Our 30 Day Money Back Gurantee is simple. During your first thirty days, if you do not like our service or just wish to close the account for any reason, you may cancel your account with no questions asked. ZeroSetup 07-19-2002, 03:00 PM =========================================
The 30 day money back guarantee does not apply to servers with $0 Setup offers.
=========================================
We had to do this because we had to many people abusing our generous offer. People were simply purchasing the ZeroSetup server just to see if we were serious or not and then cancel without paying anything when we had to pull sys admins from their current projects to build the server, (hardware components, control panel configuration, os installation, dns settings, mail configuration, etc...) Our sys admins are very expensive, so because of the abusers who signup just for fun we had to implement it.
=========================================
Here's another freaky FAQ question: K1. Do you guys offer any price protection guarantee?
=========================================
These are questions our customers ask. We are trying to say we dont offer price protection. That does not mean we will raise the price to $159/month. If we did we would receive many cancellation. (We raised the price of our web hosting product by 1 dollar for 1 month and even for $1 we had a lot of cancellation) So this is something you do not have to be affraid of. We will do our best to keep the prices the same. We are to keep you happy so you will stay with us not to rip you off so you can cancel and go to another provider.
==========================================
what ljprevo said is right. why is there two different specifications for the $50 server? one has 80 gigs of space, the other has 40. one has 400 gb bandwidth, the other has 100? Which is it for real?
==========================================
The price advertise on the dedicatedspecials.htm is only available on CERTAIN PLANS. We list it to say that we offer it. I am working with the manager to remove it. It is a little confusing. But the comparison page describes everything in details.
==========================================
What do you charge for Windows 2000 Server License. or Do I need to bring my own license?
==========================================
You can bring your own license. Please contact us for licensing details.
===========================================
Here under the $49 special it says 400 GB Monthly Transfers, 80 gig drive
http://www.zerosetup.com/dedicatedspecial.htm
============================================
This is only available on certain plans. It is available on the 1600 series. We will be changing this soon to make it clearer.

Is the Hsphere CP to be included (no charge), or it will be an additional charge?
DotComster 07-20-2002, 03:52 AM He did answer your question aquos - he said: Please start posting your questions at http://forums.zerosetup.com
MikeA 07-20-2002, 10:58 AM Hey guys, cut the man some slack. He is offering a pretty decent deal. Ok, he didn't dot all the I's and cross all the T's but he did his best.
$50 is an incredible deal, even if it's for 100 GB of bandwidth. As for the price guarantee, this can be a door that swings both ways.
I mean, say you get a server for $125 per month and it's a fantastic offer and is exactly what you are looking for and the company is great....but they have the price guarantee. The way I do it, is you are locked into those prices and features for 1 year from the date you purchase it, and this is on a per server basis.
Then lets say the company changes 1 month after you buy it and now the same thing is $100. If it's price guaranteed, you're stuck in the $125 for at least 1 year or more depending on the lenght of their contract. Then you can request to have it changed to $100. BUT if there is NO price guarantee, then you can immediately ask them to lower it to the current price.
Just remember there are always ins and outs. He could be offering $50 for 100 GB and no setup fee with a price guarantee, then next month offer the same thing with a 400 GB limit and no setup fee. With the guarantee, you're stuck. Price guarantee's protect the buyer....and the seller.
As a final note. What the website says is the way things are. REGARDLESS of what he posts here, his TOS is the final say. Mine simply state that regardless of e-mails, voice calls or other printings, our TOS is the final word. This is not to bash him, but if it went to court the postings on a public board won't hold water, only his TOS will.

flashgear 07-23-2002, 07:07 AM I was almost decided to take the Proserver 1000 ($49.95) +$299 monthly ... and buy the HSphere myself and get it installed by the PSOFT guys themselves . IS this possible ?
Because I don't want a leased software from you but would like to own it myself . Because in this case I have to pay you $240 extra per year for having HSPHERE on my software . which hugely raises my cost . :eek: :mad:

flashgear 07-25-2002, 07:08 AM Hi ZS , its me again . I noticed in the Services page in www.zerosetup.com that you are providing Free Merchant Account services to your customers which would be realy helpful to me . If I take the Dedicated Server $49 , will I be getting that Merchant Account ? What else do I need to provide you with for the process ? I had actually applied to other MErchant Account providers like Authorize.Net Verisign etc as well . But that would cost me $500 which it seems you are waiving of currently . Please let me know ASAP . I can't still access www.zerosetup.net :(
ZeroSetup 07-25-2002, 12:16 PM I will post a full reply in a bit. www.zerosetup.net works for me. Or you can try http://209.223.117.27/ that will work for sure.
Yes the merchant account is free. We will waive the $500 application fee. But the monthly fee, gateway fee and the charges from the credit card company will still be there.
