View Full Version : WeinBar Communications
BusterBee 03-14-2001, 04:46 PM Hi. I have been reading the forums for quite some time and I finally decided to post.
I was wondering if anyone has any experiences with WeinBar Communications? I am considering the dedicated server that they are offering and I wanted to get some feedback from some of the users here.
I called them up and spoke to James in their sales department and they answered my questions, but I still wanted to hear from personal experiences. How is tech support, uptime, etc.
Thanks for the input.
although i dont have any account with them presently or past, he does freqent this board often and shows a great deal of professionalism. i have yet to hear anything bad about them. i'm sure you will find their level of service and support top notch. if you do decide to go with them, please update us on your situation with them.
BusterBee 03-14-2001, 06:41 PM Thanks for the reply, teck. I was hoping to find out other peoples experience with this company. Their pre sales was great, but I need to know of the after sale. Pricing on all their plans and dedicated is truly awesome. Especially since they are in a great location. My company has colocated facilities with Aperian in Tampa and I know they are excellent.
But I still need to do my checking. There have not been any bad reviews on this or any other board about them and I was hoping to hear from recent customers. Customer support is the big issue. After all, hosting is hosting, but tech support is king.
Sydney 03-14-2001, 07:58 PM I recently signed up one of my domains with them and so far so good. I contacted their support via ICQ to ask a few pre-sales questions around 2am EST. I signed up a few minutes later and within 30 minutes, my account was set up. I guess they do have 24/7 tech support (although I haven't seen them on ICQ recently).
Also, Michael (of Weinbar Comm) frequents this forum so you'll know where to find him if you have a problem with their services? ;)
I say, give them a try.
BusterBee 03-14-2001, 08:41 PM Thanks Sydney. I just signed up with them for their dedicated Linux server. I was happy that it was set up in under 30 minutes. I decided to give them a shot because they have the 30 day money back guarantee, and if it doesn't work out, at least I am not out the money.
Hmmm, we are always on ICQ. I don't know what the deal is with that.
Rehan 03-22-2001, 01:12 PM Any other comments about WeinBar?
I'm also thinking of getting a server there and would appreciate feedback from current customers.
Weinbar,
Where are the dedicated servers that you offer located?
Are you reselling these servers or are you actually physically administering/maintaining them?
Thanks
All of our servers are located in Phoenix, AZ. We do not resell anything (dedicated servers or shared hosting). Our techs physically maintain every one of our servers (except for the ones in Baltimore with Alabanza)
Michael,
I checked your site, I couldnt easily find any information about your NOC, just a brief explanation of your connection.
If I were you I would mention that on my website, just seems like something you would want people to know??
You may have missed it. Please check it again. Here's the url - http://www.wbcom.net/datacenter.html

Rehan I went with weinbar after that RackLocation Fiasco. So far I haven't had any problems. Server was set up the same day that I ordered it plus they don't require any contracts and offer a 30 day money back guarantee.
kunal 03-23-2001, 05:43 AM i think questions directed towards the hosts should be emailed to them directly. please avoid asking hosts questions on the board.
weinbar, please respond to the questions using email.
