First of all - hi all! I'm new here.. been browsing the forums for a day or two and for the most part it looks like a respectful group of people here. Dunno much bout you all, except to avoid some guy named Tim(?). Hehe. Anyway, enough with the introduction.
My objective, in starting this thread, is to hopefully help out people, while helping myself at the same time! I want to offer my services for free for a little while, to help me build up a little portfolio for myself! I have experience with Fireworks (image creation/editing), Flash and web design, but unfortunately I was stupid - I never worried about saving my work. I've made a lot of little projects for fun, and at the time never thought about actually saving it to use later down the line when it would come in handy. Between older web hosts that are no more, and my hard drive biting the dust last month, I haven't much of my work left. :( Anyway, I'm rambling again, so I'll try to get to the point.
I don't know if this is the right place, or even if I can do this here. If it is in violation, feel free to delete it and tell me where/how I CAN post such an offer, or if I can't do so whatsoever.
If you are in need of a logo, simple flash intro, flash menu, flash banner, banner gif, header graphic etc. please post here. I shall try my best to complete everyones requests in a timely manner and by rule of "first come first serve." I'm offering this for free and there are no guarantees (read below).
How to request:
Well, I basically ask only one thing, and that is GIVE DETAILS! If your entire post here consists of "I need a logo for my site called 'My Site' kthxbye," don't complain when you receive this as your logo:

Colors, sizes, fonts, elements, theme - the more details you give, the more you will like your logo! The other route is "I need a logo for my site called 'My Site' be creative with it." Well it is an opinion thing, and there's a good chance our opinions may not be the same. However, if you give me a URL to the site you wish to place the graphic on, we'll see what we can do. Either route you take, giving the URL, if possible, is helpful.
"I'm interested, but where's your portfolio, NoFolio?" You just answered you're own question :D . If you don't want to waste your time with someone who can't show you a portfolio, then go pay someone else to do it. The point is, there's no commitment here. Just take five to ten minutes describing what you want, and see what happens, but if you NEEEEED a logo and you need it NOW, continue on your search even after asking me.. Even if you pay someone, and later down the line I spit out a logo for you, at least you have 2! It's not like you payed for the second one.
Some things:
No guarantees! I don't know what is going to happen with this thread. Whether it will fall off the face of the forum, or whether I'll get swamped with requests (I'd love to have a happy medium :)) I'm just one person, with a life and a real job. I'll be able to pull off 1 - 5 jobs a day, depending on the difficulty level. Basically, my point is, if you have a huge corporation that needs a highly professional logo design by tomorrow - pay a professional!!
I, naturally, hold the right to ignore any certain requests (95% of the time this won't be the case, hopefully), as well as close this topic all together. I know it's a possibility that I'll get slammed with hundreds of requests and that's obviously just not feasible. So spend 5 mins typing out what you want and hope for the best - nothin to lose.
Right now, I'm only doing graphics and simple flashes (note: the word "simple" is not synonymous with "crap" :)). Later down the line I'll probably offering some free web design to build up that folio, but at the moment web design is just too time consuming for me to give away.

BTW, I do have one website which I created and maintain. Unfortunately, it doesn't have too terribly many creative graphics in it, but everything that is there was created by me. http://strategyplanet.com/populous/home.html
