I could set up a datacenter as good in my room :)

I wonder who is hosted by them

At least they didn't just copy pics from Cable & Wireless or Verio and say it was their Data Center...

At least they're honest about it. It's just their business too and it's not like they're providing hosting services....

I thought it looked kind of neat. Gives me hopes of running a DS-1 or DS-3 line into one of my spare rooms in the house :D

Or better yet an OC-25. Btw does anyone have a t1, t3, or OC25 line running into their personal residence even if they have a home office attached?

do they offer hosting? it doesn't seem as if they do so what does it really matter what their private setup looks like? it seems to work well for them for their purpose, so what does it matter?

definitely beats a webhost with a $99 rackshack box claiming the rackshack network is theirs.

and to second and third, it does look neat and i would love to have a similar setup in my office / apartment.

nice setup, i agree about putting them on a table or some sort of rack, altleast make it look like the corner of some "family-style" colo joint.

servers may stay cooler on the floor. :)

but probably pick up more dust.

dont remember where i saw it, but there was this site that was powered by a commodore 64, running on a stripped down version of apache, and storing their images on tapes. pretty sick!

One of our local competing web hosts has a T1 running into his house and running the biz from there.

I have a T1 at my house, no hosting of anything here though. I use it for very reliable telecommuting.

Reminds me of a setup we had in our apt for some servers on a DSL line.

yeah one guy I read on off topic, largest internet bulliten board owned by fazle, has like a t3 going to his house and the company is paying for it so he can telecommute and ****. Frekkin crazy cool. T3 access to my house would be sweet. His laout is pretty cool, hes got a cabinet filled with cisco stuff as well next to his 5 computers. One of the other guys on the board works at rackspace or rackshack i got the pics on my home computer not here but its like a football field half filled with servers and the other half filled with empty racks, lemme see if someone has them.... I'll make a post over there

Heh, yes. Not a bad little set up, though needs a little cleaning up, and for some reason I get the urge to put them up off the floor as well.

I'd love to have that telescope too. :D Put my star charts to use ;)

I'd also like to have a setup like that (but off the floor), and if I had a telescope like that I'd have it rigged into the computer and use it to take pictures of deeo space at night (more complex than it sounds) and perhaps run a space images site off one of the computers. Of course I cant do this because I don't have the $$$ and I'm on a 28.8 shared by 2 other people :bawling:

If they provide good support, speeds, etc. I don't care what it looks like. As long as it works :)

damn peeps...they aren't a webhosting company...

they run a single site that looks to do more traffic than any site i've run. The site also seems pretty fast, tho the few searches I did came up with pretty poor results and it didn't allow for many options.

Why move in with them? That looks like a wireless hub up top. Move in next door and see if it is protected - most people don't.

Hey honey - look what this new apartment comes with - the air is carrying a T1 worth of bandwidth.
