Hello there. It's been a while since I posted here and for that I apologize. However something has come to my attention that I think needs to be delt with. We have had over $2000 in fraud orders in the past 1 and a half weeks. Has anyone else had this hudge upturn in fraud?

This may have been discussed earlier and for that I am sorry but when I did a search under fraud I got almost everything ;)

We get a very low percentage of actual processed orders that are fraudulant because we manually screen all orders before they are processed - it's the best way to catch them.

We do that too, that's how we know right away that these orders are fraud. My question is have your businesses been getting a lot of them lately?

We have. Luckily we have caught all fraudulent orders before charging them.

We report them to the bank that issued the card, and they seem very grateful to nip it in the bud.

How do you know what bank issued the card?

I don't know about you, but we specifical ask the customer which bank issued the card
then we call the bank to verify the card. :)

netsolutions, if it's American Express or Discover, call them directly.

For MasterCard and Visa, call this number:

1-800-228-1122

You'll need your merchant ID and the fraudulent card number. One of the options is to get the bank's phone number. Then you call the bank and connect with their Code 10 line (online orders aren't really Code 10s but it's the best place I know to report a fraudulent order).

No, I simply won't take the order :P
I know its not the greatest route, but I don't accept credit cards outside of areas that can not be easily verified. You would be surprised though, there is a few over seas credit cards that have an office or two in the US that you can call.

Our fraud orders seem to come in groups. Almost like someone got through our screening, got an account and told a bunch of others. Either way, we may get 2 one day and 5 the next and none for a week. You just have to verify the information given.
The odd thing I never figured out was out of all the orders we got that turned out to be fraud, about 80% of them never uploaded a single file, just signed up

I think that's a bit harsh on people living in Korea and the surounding area, you can't fairly tar everyone with the same brush, and if it was meant as a joke then it was in poor taste.

Our fraudulant orders seem to come in batches of 2 or 3 too for some reason.
