I'd start by using the WHT search.

I would say, most people that post here, hold 'porn' in low esteam, at least with respect to hosting it.

I wouldn't necessarily say 'most' people, but you definately have to mention before you order with anyone what you are doing - to give them the chance to say 'no thanks' before they find out afterwards and just turn you off.

As for what you are requiring, it all depends on what you are going to be hosting to start with. If you are going to have 10-20gb of videos/pictures etc. then i would possibly suggest a vps to start with (if you are confident in managing the server yourself).

If you are not confident in managing a server (either vps or dedicated), then you can either get a managed server (of either kind, but probably a vps to start with) or look for a reseller package, which will generally give you more resources than a standard shared package.

Whatever you decide, talk to any prospective hosts, they will be able to advise you with respect to their packages.

Also, try and make sure that your prospective host offers a range of services - that will help you when you need to upgrade your hosting, maybe from shared to vps to dedicated.

Also, you should make sure that you inform your possible host exactly what you are trying to do, and the type of content. Most providers would rather work with you, than have to find out the hard way.
Business is Business for most people, and as long as the content is something that they can tolerate and make their upstream partners not harp on them for, they will accept you as a customer. Unless it's against laws or other policies. But, in the end, Let you host know, and you will be sure to have a good relationship with them.

Actually, there are many Shared hosts that would allow adult content, it just depends, like anything else, the legality of it.

I would suggest you first find and build a list of hosts you are interested in, then ask them if they allow it or not. Sometimes, if not most of the time, it should be listed already in their FAQs or TOS/AUP.

Rahul, before you try to venture out on starting a porn site, you should be aware of laws here in India, even though you will be hosting offshore, it's not allowed as per our laws.

Adults content is usually more sensitive, especially legality issues in different countries. You will need to get prepared everything well on your end first then.
Adults hosting in US is usually not a big issue in US :)
