I ask myself if you would write some advices to keep a domain away from being hijacked either by a company, by a private individual, or even by your own registrar at some point.

What measures do you take not only to keep the domain safe but also to have solid proofs of the ownership of the domain at some point in the time so you can use them in a legal claim if needed.

You can set to block it, don't use free e-mail to register and hide your contact informations (if your registrar give that option for free).

Keep your bills.

Not to sure what your getting at, but to me:

Just don't let the reg. expire, print off copies of invoices, seems to be all thats needed.
