My biggest issue with cpanel is the lackluster webmail offerings.

Squirrelmail and Horde are OK, but just ok.

Roundcube is a good step, but still lacks many features.

I demo'd @mail and liked it very much, however the inability to check and send mail from multiple accounts at the same time was a show stopper for us.

Has anyone successfully integrated DIMP with cPanel?

Looks like this could be a very good upgrade and our customers would love it.

You can run pretty much any webmail app that you want on a cPanel box, the only difficult bit is integrating it into the actual Control Panel pages.

Theres nothing stopping you from installing it at domain.com/webmail2 for example.

DIMP looks interesting, I never did like nutsmail for whatever reason. I think I'll play around with DIMP this weekend.

I looked at DIMP and it cannot be integrated (easily) into cPanel due to Horde 3.1 being installed and DIMP requires Horde 3.2 along with a newer version of IMP.

That's not to say it cannot be done, I successfully found a way to have NutsMail work on a server-wide level with cPanel but Horde is significantly more complex than SquirrelMail to customize. The biggest concern will be upgrading the cPanel copy of Horde to 3.2 without breaking anything in the process, then configuring it to work with DIMP all while preventing cPanel from overwriting the changes.

I'll see what I can do, but definitely no promises. :)

Hello,

I would recommend to disable horde in WHM and install Horde 3.2 separately as DIMP requires horde 3.2. And put a redirect so that webmail.domain.com will be redirected to the horde.
