Whois on dnforum.com reveals the horror: Dan is hosting with TimPD :D (these nameservers are flaky - I had TONNS of problems with them myself)

Domain servers in listed order:
NS3.NOCSERVERS.NET 65.57.224.3

NS4.NOCSERVERS.NET 65.57.224.4

If it was the bandwith there would be a page up saying "bandwith limit exceeded" as has happened before...there must be something more serious going on...

Omni, read above. These 2 nameservers were a royal pain in the a$$ when I was hosting with TimPD.

Wasn't Dan talking about changing hosts? Maybe that's what's going on.

Yup, Dan warned us over a week ago about the host change. Just was not expecting dnFourm to be down so long :bawling:

Please do not quote me as this is merely a guess.

Recently his hosting firm (Tim) posted several times complaining about alleged credit problems on their webhosting, and also over the bandwidth issues by a wide margin.

Those posts were quickly deleted by the dnforum moderators as inappropriate.

Just guessing they may have closed the hosting acct over it but not positive. I know Dan was also thinking about switching hosting firms too.

The site will be back up.... In a few hours or less. We apoglize for any trouble this has caused.... DNFORUM is also going to be moving into another one of our servers you may see the board closed once the site is back.

The same bull****...man, when I saw those DNS servers in the DNForum.com WHOIS info, my hair stood up. My web site was down for 3 days while the servers were being jerked around. Then of course we had the CPanel licence issue that generated threads with 1,500 replies

Apparently Vortech opened access temporarily to allow for the database / other data to be saved. There is no solution as long as one uses TimPD for hosting.

Seems like everything is down... dnforum is down, the forums at my web host are down, even the Seattle public library web site is down (and the entire library system is closed) until after Labor Day due to budget cuts. :(

Yea we had to bring the server up to save dnforum.com data for him.. :) He should get an email here soon with his stuff as well..

Arghh, just found this thread.. Basically if you don't know already my host apparently owes money to Vortech (who supplied the server I was on) and finally killed the server from him. During all this, all TimPD tells me is "don't worry, this will be sorted out soon, we're working on it", even though I asked for details so many times.. Unlike some people, Vortech actually works with people, even though they didn't have to they saved my board's data, so now the site, which is hosted on a rackshack server now (it's a freind's, he's letting me use it for a week or two until I get things sorted out, I just switched my nameservers) shoudl be up by tomorrow night assuming vortech gets my files sometime tomorrow. Anyways, someone needs to teach tim a lesson.
