very cool indeed. :) Were I a cheesehead I'd probably offer quite a few pennies for them.

Hey...I'm a cheesehead and never even thought to get those. Very cool indeed. I'll watch for you on the road! (I'll be the one trying to run your car off the road with the hope of getting the plates. :D )

BTW: How much did they cost you? I'm just curious, that's all.

The personalization is $15/year. Plates run $45 normally, since it's a "passenger car" it's the cheapest of the lot.

I am sure that Mbarb is going to be jealous as heck too, he lives just a couple of hours from me... hee hee

;) Now don't be running me off the road, silly. You may send your cash offers to...... :smokin:

impressive. A personalized plate in Queensland Australia that can say 'RedHat' will cost you $1800 (AU) 'WebHost' doesn't fit on our plates.

New York residents can do a check online to see if a plate is available or not. It it is, you even get to see what the plate will look like!

NY Plate Check (https://www.dmv.state.ny.us/inettrans2/wcCustomPlates.ASP?WCI=empchooseplate&WCU). BTW, WEB HOST is taken.

To answer another's question...

Personalized Empire plates are $37.25 for passenger and commercial vehicles, with an annual fee of $25. Motorcycle plates are $27.25 initially, with an annual fee of $15.

But I do spend a lot of time playing around on that NY state plate generator that was posted earlier. Someday I'll get an image there that I won't be able to resist.

By the way, there used to be a guy I'd see around occasionally with the New York plate WEB GURU. Haven't seen it in a couple of years, though... but it's not available so I guess he's still out there.

In California (USA) it's some $90 to get it and $65/year to maintain it.

Mine are SMSHST.

Because I get Conservation Plates, we're only allowed 6 characters in NH, where the regular plates you can now have 7 characters...

Of course, my plate makes NO sense, to anyone but me. BUT, if you look closely, you can see the license plate frame that I got from my cafepress store, that actually says sms-hosting.com...
