Metallian 06-04-2008, 11:54 PM yes, we using clientexec.
InvisionSrv 06-05-2008, 03:10 AM I love CE! I would recommend it to anyone
Xaurora 06-05-2008, 07:49 AM Thanks guys, Ill be picking this up for my new site ... Looks better then what I have now..
Justin 06-05-2008, 11:39 AM Been running clientexec myself for years. It's a great piece of software for hosting service billing/management. I'd have to say with this last version 3.1.1 they made alot of improvements upon the older builds.
elimehosting 06-12-2008, 01:20 AM I've been using CE for 2 months now. Their support is awesome and willing to help in any way they can. I use it mainly for online billing for hosting accounts and some web design clients. I would recommend it.
Sparrow-Sean 06-14-2008, 05:39 AM I have used it, Personally it was not for me. I moved over to WHMCS and it is much better. Easier to Naviagate and I just like it better.
So Client Exec is good, Just not for me !!!
I am selling a License .. See the Board.
PogiWeb 06-14-2008, 02:07 PM Jetwash,
If you don't mind me asking what version of CE were you using?
Sparrow-Sean 06-15-2008, 05:29 AM We were using 3.1.1, Which was the Latest Release by Newedge :)
Atarim 06-15-2008, 11:08 AM We use CE - it serves our needs.
Rapid-Host.com 06-15-2008, 01:09 PM Clientexec has it's pro's and con's.
With the last release, and looking at the roadmap for future releases I think it's looking really good.
I have used CE for a few years and have no complaints.
It is harder to customize though, but once you get past that it's great.
railto 06-15-2008, 01:34 PM when i was hosting i went through a period of using CE, and tbh i hated it, was not nice to config and the client area was not nice at all, sorry but it get a thumbs down from me.
wirefusemedia 06-15-2008, 02:01 PM Yeah, I have used ClientExec, ModernBill and WHMCS. ModernBill, was alright, ClientExec had its issues, I was using 3.1.1. I didn't like how it just wasn't as customizable. WHMCS is what were using now, you can't even tell its a billing system. Its just in there with our template, looks very nice clean. I have a few more tweaks to do with it but I'm able to and its nice! My votes for whmcs!

Your opinion is certainly appreciated, however I think it should be noted that you couldn't have used the software for more then a couple of weeks. It might not be as easy to customize as WHMCS, but without really having customized it it's hard to take your views against CE seriously.
I think your review is more for the customizability of WHMCS then the overal performance of CE.

Very True. We have been using CE and we love it.
PogiWeb 06-16-2008, 11:12 AM Being customizable does affect the overall performance of CE. I personally think its a huge draw back that its not as customizable and i'm sure if I had more of the ability to modify certain parts of the design it would draw better attention to the horrible order process.

This is really subjective to your ability to modify the themes and integrate it with your site. I agree though, if you are not willing to really buckle down and work at it, customizing CE is difficult.
All scripts have it's weaknesses, some people are not very impressed with the support system of WHMCS for example.
I just feel that making a review of a product while only using 1 release that is about 3 weeks old, is probably not very useful to anyone.
PogiWeb 06-17-2008, 12:50 AM Rapid-Host,
I've been using CE 3.1 since Beta1 (3 Months Old) and have used CE in the past. I wouldn't call myself a master of the script yet, but I do know my way around. You may be wondering how the heck did you get to use beta1. I was contacted by Alberto long before 3.1 was even in its Beta stages for a live preview and was then contacted by Alberto to give 3.1 Beta 1 a shot. Beta 1 and 2 were only given to a select few.
I believe I was chosen because of the fact of knowing my way around these types of scripts. So I believe my comment is valid! I of course would love to utilize my own type of script to fit all my needs, but Clientexec will do for my needs.
What I like the most...
The Support system is built for GREAT customer Service.
Rapid-Host.com 06-17-2008, 07:32 AM Matt:
I was never questioning your review, mostly because when I made my original comment you hadn't even reviewed. If you read the entire post, I actually go on to agree with your opinion regarding the lack of customization.
I was talking about Zinkhost posting a review with very little information about his experience other then he has only used the version which is less then a few weeks old.
Xaurora 06-17-2008, 07:37 AM anyone know where i can get some skins for this program?
Sparrow-Sean 06-17-2008, 07:41 AM Ive seen them on Yahoo, But they had to be paid for. I do not use Client Exec Anymore, Customising it was a pain in the back...
But yeah, WHMCS is way cooler :)
TheLimey 06-17-2008, 07:45 AM One thing that puts me off ClientExec is that all packages are prefixed "CE n" with n being an incremental number. There doesn't seem to be any way to change this, or set the starting number.
Sparrow-Sean 06-17-2008, 07:48 AM IT was not that sort of thing that bothered me, I used it to signup accounts in WHM and it worked great, Nothing to do with CE but I know what you mean with the word "CE" and it did not bother me.
I just hated setting up invoices through it and making sure they work and all!!!
And all the Cron Jobs, Were annoying, easy to setup but just too many...
