i am considering buying zend encoder for some PHP scripts. but i guess encoded files will only work with zend optimizer 1.2.0 installed. so i wanna make sure that it is "common" to have zend optimizer installed. whats the vote? is it ok for me to encode my scripts?
thanks
I suppose that is a question you would have to ask your host. We normally install it on request.

Since I will "sell" my encoded scripts I want to know how universally popular Zend Optimizer is because encoded scripts would "pre-require" Zend Optimizer. Would appreciate your thoughts on this. Is there any statistic on how many hosts support ZO?
Thanks!
ZO seems common with many providers.

Actually ZO is installed on what I like to call a "per server basis" Most hosts dont have it installed, but as Beau said, many hosts will install it upon request
