Personally, I think Monday defines the first day of the week, though I've had this same conversation with others who feel the first day is Sunday. Guess it doesn't matter in the long run, as long as you know when your week starts. :D

Sunday

Look at a calendar, the first day of every week starts on Sunday, and ends on Saturday.

Technically the week starts on Sunday which is why most calendars start on Sunday. (Think about it - where do you think the word Weekend came from - Saturday and Sunday are both the ends of the "week" :stickout).

I won't say all calendars start on a Sunday, because my wall calendar starts on a Monday :D

I consider Monday to be the first day of the week but it's all a manner of personal preference.

Monday is the first day of my work week and so I consider it the first day of the week. However, I can't stand looking at a calendar that starts the weeks on Monday's. I always forget to pay attention to the days and end up thinking Monday is Sunday when it's not.

I believe Sunday to be the start of the week technically, but Monday is considered the first for many because it is typically the start of a new work* week.

Actually I am revising my previous statement and state:

The beginning of the week is when I realize I just have to get something done today.

"Most people work week days"

Why don't they work Sunday then?

How about we just merge the two days into one called Sonday? See, doesn't that have a nice ring to it? :stickout

Well according to most ppl, Sunday is the start of a new week, unless your reffering to when work and school starts, then monday is the start. i consider sunday the start if im trying to figure out how many weeks until blah, but normaly i will consider monday the start because monday = start of strees which = work and school....
