this is usually used when a dedicated box is offered - basically they'll give you a X mbps connection and won't monitor the amount of data you transferred.

So its ok to give unlimited/unmetered bandwidth when i wanna buy a dedicated Box...then why do we complain for shared accounts?

i never said its okay, personally i think unmetered is just as bad as unlimited....but you have to understand the difference

unlimited bandwidth - doesn't exist. (see definition of bandwidth below)

bandwidth is the amount of data that can be transferred through a connect per unit of time (ie, 10 megabits per second or 10mbps)

unmetered bandwidth - has a fixed data rate (ie, 1mbps) but the transfer is not monitored.

transfer - the amount of data transferred through a link (25GB, 10GB etc)

unlimited transfer - doesn't exist, if you have a 1mbps there is only x amount of data (i didn't feel like doing the calculations) you can transfer in a given month....
