View Full Version : 2Checkout - refund?

I notice they advertise a 30 day money back guarantee on site, it has been about 18 hours into my subscription and basically I want to cancel my account.

Just a few questions...

1. Will they have already charged money to my card?

2. Will they give me the refund?

3. What the heck happened - I could've sworn I heard good things about them over here, but thus far it has been a debacle of immeasurable standards...

Thanks,
Noel Rock

Might want to try their support forums and/or put in a help ticket with them. Then again it is Sunday (in the US) so it might take some time.

Cheers :)

1) Probably.
2) Hopefully.
3) I would have given them a good review a few months ago (like in April/May), but since then their support has been downhill, their processing system would be unavailable at random hours (server timeouts, server not found, 500 errors, etc). So I switched to HostCharge in July - best decision I've ever made I think.

Good luck :)

Hello,

01. Most probably they have charged your credit card. Also there are possibilities that the transaction hasn't yet captured, due to waiting for the authorization.

02. If they've mentioned 30-day money back guarantee in their web site, most probably they will refund you. At least for their reputation.

03. Some hosts are here known as best once just due to having some connections between a group of people. The posts here wouldn't be the only proof to judge if a host is good or bad.

I wish you all the bests. Have a great day my friend.

Thanks guys! Just to wrap up this very short saga - I got this e-mail from 2checkout, kudos to them - the reply was within the hour ^_^!

"Hi
I have canceled the account and refunded the charge.

It normally takes 4-7 business days for the Credit Card company to update your balance and show the refund."

Fantastic end - it couldn't've went better really :D.

Good, nice to know it was sorted out but there are still many 2CO customers that are unhappy as far as the whole system works there.

Yeah - 'tis a bit of a sham in there, I advise if they're within their 30 day guarantee - demand their refund, they're entitled to it really.

Hmm....I do use them for some of my sites. If they somehow develop themselves better, it would very nice to do business with them..:)

Yeah - the place does show promise, and for some it will be fine.

But right now after numerous delays - on my end we need results, not promise.

(;) I'd like to define the difference between promise and promises...

Promise: Good outlook for future prospects
Promises: Oh, just look at anything Sean White says.)

What happened in the 18 hours after you purchased?

I wouldn't mind hearing the answer to that myself.

Hey there ^_^ - sorry, I guess I missed this question!

Headers and footers weren't saving - I sent a ticket to support and told them exactly what was happening (it is happening to several others on the forums too) and they wrote back telling me I had to try inserting the URL and not the HTML. It seriously seemed like some idiot had read the first three words and then started bashing out an automated response.

Then two of my products disappeared - and I decided I'd seen enough in eighteen hours, gave a few friends a call who told me that things had been going downhill there for a while - so I decided to hop ship.

Thank you for your response.

We certainly hope things are getting better. We've added eight new employees (you may have dealt with a trainee's response - my apologies if it was incorrect or not specific to your ticket) and are adding new features weekly.

Yes, we have been tied up the past few weeks making certain our data center move went as smoothly as possible and bringing our new staff up to speed but that upgrade alone will enable us to eliminate a great many of the problems that people consistently reported such as long wait times for orders to process, page hangings, 404 errors, etc.

I am sorry you had a negative experience with our company. Both TomD and myself frequent this form among others to head off problems that create the result you felt you had to obtain (i.e. cancellation and refund).

And, for the record, we promptly honor all requests made for a refund of the signup fee for whatever reason a merchant may decide 2CO isn't the right processor for them.

Thank you again,

Kristin

Hey Kristin :)

Your response seems very kind, and with people like you behind the company I really hope it goes far. To be honest it makes me ashamed I left it ;)!

If someone could have simply said "Well, we'll fix that for you during x time" I would have been ecstatic and definitely wouldn't have considered leaving you. (Revecom is rather difficult to sign up for by comparison - heh, if possible I might consider going back if there was anything that could be done?)

Well, you're certainly welcome back but I can't guarantee anything without knowing more about the problem.

For the record, I'm also the second least-technical person on staff but can definitely get you an accurate and concise reponse that pertains to your problem and, if at all possible, find a solution.

The timing for posting problems and suggestions couldn't be better -- we're working on a very definitive Users' Manual and a better FAQ page so that our merchants (new and old) can locate solutions to their own problems.

Knowing what problems are lingering out there and what new problems are encountered (seldomly or frequently) tells us where we need to pay attention.

Thank you,

Kristin

I had a similar problem, and had to cancel after my first day of use. I did get my refund, but it was over 15 days before I got it...They are a great CC processing company, but they just couldnt do what I wanted...Keep in mind, its hard to please everyone. The good remarks have far outweighed the bad ones for 2checkout on these forums :)

Well, I'm pleased (so far) with you guys (err girls).

If you're able to get together a nice API in the future, would be even better... :)
