Hey, I just got email from 2checkout:

Dear Thomas,

or any of your account details in such a manner.

Please contact support@2checkout.com if you have questions or concerns or if you responded to the criminals email.

Copy of the fraudulent email

Jeez, I cannot believe how many scamers is out there. I remember that PayPal has had the same problem.

I'm wondering what those people will do if You give them your passowrd, change your bank account details, get money and what then... FBI and others will track them down and they will go to jail.

sad:bawling:

How is it odd that you got the same e-mail? 2checkout is sending it to all their customers in hope of cutting down on fraud.

To the best of our knowledge, only 1 merchant has been targeted with this bogus email.

However, we felt it was in the best interest of our merchants to send a warning to all.

Any time key information is changed on an account, an email is sent to the contact email address. Attempting to change the contact email address also sends an email to the current email address.

These are our safeguards.

As for people sending their passwords, they do it all the time. They do it without question, they do it without being asked. This goes the same for their Credit Card.

I cancel at least 5 accounts a day from customers thinking we are "like PayPal", and they signup for $49.00 just to pay for a $9.00 auction purchase. You know these people have not comprehended what they are doing, they are just "following directions" and filling in the blanks.

It's downright scary...
