hi all
anybody have good/bad things to say about kualo (formerly nomonthly.co.uk)? my only reservation is that they seem to offer a lot more space per monthly fee than other places... unfortunately, in this mad mad hosting world, this sort of thing looks suspicious.

however, haven't been able to find any problems with them, so i'm pretty near to signing up. it would be good to hear from others first. i did a forum search and only came up with bits and pieces...

thanks.....

actually, now that i check, i wonder why their UK phone number is answered by "the MPC group"? and why their New York address as listed on their website is not an address at all ("Fifth Avenue, Ninth Floor"). Hmmmm........

Still better than many addresses for hosting companies - "third bedroom on left, just next to my mum's"... :D

Hello,

The UK phone number is answered with "MPC Group" as this is our group name. We own more than one company, and as a result answer the phones with the group name. FYI the Kualo telephone number will shortly be dedicated to Kualo only and will be answered "Kualo".

As for the USA address, this was set up as a temporary mail forwarding address before we fully establish the USA branch. This should be completed within the next two months after which there will be full USA telephone numbers and a new address.

Nothing suspicious here I assure you, if you need opinions of current customers please feel free to ask around on our foums: http://forums.kualo.com

If you need any further clarification from us directly, please don't hesitate to get in touch with me.

Best regards,

Jo Stonehouse

thanks for the clarification jo stonehouse. isn't it awful how paranoid people have to be about their prospective hosters?

btw, i had a look around your forums and noticed that in the pre-sales section, there were a number of questions answered with "i have dealt with this in your helpdesk ticket". i would suggest that you should keep the reply in the forums also, just so those of us who are looking for the answers can also read them.

also, btw, will that UK number during normal working hours eventually have a live person at the end of it too?

thanks.

Hello,

It is awful, but understandable.

Good suggestion and we will do this in future - you'll also find a lot of pre-sales information in the presales FAQ which is linked from the forums. The UK number *always* has a live person on the end of it during normal working hours - if a manager or tech is unavailable there should still be a receptionist available to answer. Its operated from 9-5 Monday-Friday with the exception of today (Monday) which is a bank holiday in the UK.

Best regards,

Jo
