It will drop on the 6th day after it entered pending delete (assuming it's a .com). It will be at the mercy of the dropcatchers. If it's a domain with any perceived value it will get picked up by a dropcatcher. Your best bet for capturing the domain is to place a backorder on the domain with the top 3 dropcatchers/auctioneers... SnapNames/NameJet/Pool. Order at all three.

hi stu i checked on snap names and it said the domain will be auctioned on 29th june, so i signed up and placed a bid and on pool.com you can backorder it but which one shall i do,

bid for domain?
backorder domain?

thanks jayesh

Like stu2 said, both, all three, the more the merrier. It really depends on how much that name means to you. One of the two or three you looked at will probably get the name in the end, and then you can start from there.

And like previously mentioned, it also makes a difference if it's not a .com, .net, .org, .info, etc. -- the more common ones; where it's registered matters, too.

You should backorder it at all three. Bid and backorder are usually interchangeable terms. However. Strictly you backorder a domain before it drops and bid on the domain after it's captured.

You are not competing against yourself by backordering at all three. You are just giving yourself more chances to have a seat at the private auction which ensures after it's captured. If you are the only one backordering at the capturing dropcatcher, you win outright.
