Greetings,
Novice question... If I had a client set up on a server with his domain, and I wanted to move it over to another server without any downtime, how could I go about doing this? Is it possible? Thanks...

Have both running at the same time on both servers, then change the dns settings.

Is it that simple?

If it is a static html site, yes. The email part of it can be a bit more complicated, but the website part is very simple.

You want to move the site it self or just the domain?

The entire site.

Thanks for the help.

So basically, all I need to do is mirror the files, email accounts, etc. on the second server, setup his domain, setup the nameservers on the second server, change the IPs of the nameservers through my registrar, and then notice clients of the new nameserver IPs, right? And there would be no downtime during any of this?

I bought O'Reily's DNS and BIND a month ago, maybe I should just go read it. :buck:

Yep. set everything up on both, then leave it for 24-48 hours, tehn you should be able to safely remove the site from the old server.
