I had high hopes for HostCharge.. I signed up 2 days ago ... faxed in all required docs....

and waited.. and waited .. and waited...

So i got a hold of a nameless hostcharge rep here on WHT with the nifty "Email" button..

he said to apply again because he didnt get the online application, but he did get the faxes...

so i go and try to apply again.. but only to get 404 messages on the second step ( and i think last).
Then i email them telling them that they forgot to upload a page or something.

Funny thing happens: emails bounce back....

so i email them again, and when it goes through i get a response from the same person that told me earlier that he had gotten the faxes, .. that he infact DIDN'T have them at all..

I know stuff happens.. but this kind of loss of documents in a company that manages the money of possibly hundreds of hosting companies.. really doesn't assure me..

I was going to try out their basic account to see if it was any good. (free setup, 8 percent etc..)

If i liked it, i'd have definately gone for their premium plan..

All i can say is to them, get your act together.

A similar experience here I'm afraid, they must be having problems this week :(

They sent me an email saying they had successfully billed my cc the setup charges, then 2 days later sent me another email saying the charges were declined because I gave them an incorrect cc number (left a digit off they said). I had a look at the document I faxed them, and it quite clearly shows the correct info.

I've sent several emails requesting they cancel the account but they still havn't. I've now joined Paysystems.com and they (so far) are excellent.

paysystems is ok (doesnt do future billing, but alright). HostCharge (although i do not want to cover their butt) is working on their new MCC (control panel) that has a bunch of goodies..

but this is what it all comes down to... setup$$. They provide a great deal AND NO SETUP because they don't have many running the show.. but if you can get it up and running, they are ok. This new MCC is taking up a lot of their time because the demand is high for em. They do browse the forums here, so hopefully they may respond with a reason why. Hmm?

Can you give an example of how frequently and how long in arrears do they pay out the revenue.

Hi,
We've experienced several dns issues this week, unfortunately, resulting in some mail going lost. We sincerely apologise for that, te dns didn't resolve correctlywith the main server and the backup server. Now that the mail server should be functioning well again, I hope the people who had their email bouncing will email us @ support@hostcharge.com .

We're sorry that this had to happen, but we're busy with the launching of the new mcc and might have overlooked some issues. For this I apologise on behalf of hostcharge again, please do email support@hostcharge.com and we will have all customer issues resolved asap.

Thanks. =)

Greetings Everyone,

As Winnie has already explained we had dns issues where we lost some of our mails. I do apologise for this little mess because a few account signups were lost in that.

What we have done is setup a trouble ticketing system so that mails dont get lost. So if you email us, you'll get a reply within minutes.

Furthermore, my sincere apologies to those people who applied for a hostcharge account and were kept waiting. I assure you to solve this problem our new mcc will allow instant setup and processing so that this doesn't happen in the future.

And to those right now, please email trevor@hostcharge.com with your application info, he will see to that your account is setup asap.

If you have any questions please dont hesitate to file a ticket of mail any of us directly.

All the best,
Asher.

I just signed up with them too.

I am impressed with the response time with every email so far. Except the one time when it bounced around the time they started the help desk.

The setup time was not exactly 24 hours since they mentioned they were a bit backloged but they did set it up after I sent an email that mentioned that i was waiting. The setup time was more than acceptable for me however.

Overall I am very happy with them, However I have not had the chance to use their service beyond setup.

I also have good experience with them. It may be some problem right now with them for which their emails are bouncing back and they are not responding. I will check it by sending them a mail.

Our mails shouldn't be bouncing back now, archie2, did you send us something we didn't respond to? Please let me know if you did.

Thanks =)

hello,
i personally dealt with 'anantman' myself, it seems he faxed the documents but his application was never recieved, i believe i asked him several times to apply again without response or application

i am still waiting on my side to setup your account as i have been since our first communication, and as i said, as soon as i recieve your application your account will be setup immediately

as for the overall problem with setup delays, we've run into a few growing pains due to the very high volume of new signups, however we just recently hired two new customer support representatives which should fix the problem completely :)

Thanks
Trevor

just wanted to add, signups will be much more automated once the new mcc is out, which should eliminate this problem, i apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused any of you

send me an email at trevor@hostcharge.com if you are experiencing delays or difficulties and expect a prompt response

The application was sent in twice, but I guess the DNS problems contributed to it not getting to you guys.

I have submitted it again.

hi, just a question
are you sure you are confirming the application on the 2nd page?
(after filling out the application, you must confirm the information and press submit again)

you should recieve a java popup giving you information on where to fax the documents
